Attaining enlightenment also only comes from dwelling in the forest, Not from villages, towns, and places of bustle. Thus, remembering the virtues of the forest, Tend towards solitude, abandoning the seven habits. Even offering incense and flowers To all the Buddhas of the Ganges' aeons, Cannot match the accumulation of merit (from dwelling in the forest). As extensively explained in the "Moonlight Sutra," One should contemplate the noble virtues of the forest. Having gone there, near caves and rocky mountains, Or in places abundant with medicinal herbs, blooming flowers, and lush trees, Or having established a dwelling in a hut of grass and leaves, Sustaining oneself with water, trees, and fruits, etc., Barely making a living with meager sustenance, Day and night, diligently engage in virtuous Dharma. There, like the old leaves of forest trees, The distinctions of form, youth, and faculties, Gradually, gradually change, without essence, One should certainly realize that wealth will decline. There, like the separation of trees and leaves, Friendliness and unfriendliness, as well as one's own body, Even when gathered together, have the nature of separating individually, One should certainly realize that this is the nature of separation. There, like an empty lotus pond, Wealth and prosperity, and all kinds of desirable objects, Ultimately are impermanent, changing, and without essence, One should certainly realize that accumulation will be exhausted. There, like the changing of the four seasons, Even this activity, like the blooming of spring flowers, Will change with time, and youth will pass away, One should certainly realize that the Lord of Death will come. There, like the ripening and falling of fruits, The old, the young, and those in their prime, Are all subject to the law of death, and when it will come is uncertain, One should certainly realize that the born will die. There, like the reflection appearing in a pond, All kinds of phenomena are merely appearances without inherent existence, Like illusions, mirages, and the moon in water, One should certainly realize that they are empty of truth. Having thus understood all phenomena, Stretch the body comfortably on a wide cushion, Think of benefiting sentient beings, cultivate bodhicitta, Do not think of the past, do not anticipate the future, Abandon attachment to present awareness, Do not scatter, do not contract, rest in a state of non-distraction. Sale sing nge ye re wal le wa, Rest in a state of emptiness and clarity, without grasping or elaboration. This is the intention of all the Buddhas of the three times, The nature of mind.

The meaning of the original, just as it is, in accordance with the system, is to relax and leave it as it is, without thinking about anything. Let go of all thoughts in your mind. Not thinking, not analyzing, not being in the realm of elaboration, that is the very intention of all the Buddhas. Therefore, in order to pacify the thicket of thoughts, one should approach stillness and look at the nature of the mind. Afterwards, dedicate with the purity of the three spheres. In the meantime, contemplate impermanence and death in your mind. Think about how compounded things have no essence and many faults, and also about the nature of samsara. In this way, having realized that all the various appearances of the external world are like dreams and illusions, leave everything in the state of equality, in the sky. Do not make affirmations or negations, abandon the mental activity in your mind. How is it when you practice like that? The mind itself is without birth and without cessation. Whatever the original nature is will become manifest. In this way, even when you sleep at night, leave the mind in the nature of unborn dharmata, with wisdom, in a state free from elaboration. When you rise and when appearances arise, also like illusions, look again and again at their lack of inherent existence. How is it? The mind itself is a precious treasure. Having seen the essence of non-acceptance and non-rejection, completely cross the ocean of sorrow of existence, attain the island of sorrowlessness, peace, permanence, joy, and non-elaboration, and attain the boundless state of Buddhahood. In the meantime, whatever magical displays of thoughts may arise, whatever appears, look at its self-arisen essence, without grasping. The essence of conceptual thoughts will appear as the play of the Dharmakaya. When walking, sitting, rising, and appearing, I shall guide these beings, may they become protectors, saviors, helpers, and friends. Having firmly established faith in the mind of Bodhi, remember the pure conduct of the field of action, and do not think of anything other than the benefit of sentient beings. This is the great tree of compassion, it is the cause of growing the sprout of the all-knowing victorious ones. Transcending the Hearers and the intermediate Buddhas, it is the great and complete ocean that radiates the light of immeasurable compassion, possessing countless immeasurable qualities, it is the wonderful place where the jewel of the perfect Buddha arises. What else is more wonderful than this? Therefore, those who possess intelligence, in order to accomplish the supreme peace of Bodhi, must go to meditate in the forest. "If I do not practice Dharma here, where will I go after death, how will I know?" "On the path of Dharma,
