That is, the basis and the way of delusion, the way of pervasion, as well as the place, the path, the gate, and the realm, the measure of practice and the intermediate state, the place of liberation itself, and eleven in total. Regarding this, the basis, the nature of things as they are, is taught before enlightenment and before sentient beings arise from non-enlightenment. From this, the way sentient beings are deluded is taught. When deluded, the way the basis pervades is taught. The place on which it relies. And from which path does its great appearance arise? From which gate does it manifest? In which realm does it appear? How to practice it? To determine with certainty by definite signs and measures. If the practice is not complete, then the lamp of wisdom is shown in the intermediate state. And what is the ultimate great place of liberation of all of this is taught, and the vajra place is briefly taught with eleven, and this method is the arrangement of the body of this treatise. As it is also said in the reductio ad absurdum: What is the beginning of sentient beings' samsara? What holds the beginning of the past? What is the key to the non-delusion of the Buddha? From what does the delusion of sentient beings arise? Where is the place of self-awareness and wisdom? From what does that very path arise? What is the gate of the manifestation of wisdom? What is the key to the lamp like? How does its characteristic appear? Where does the key to the realm appear? What pervades its support? What is the key to the stages of intelligence? How is it practiced? What is the key to its signs and measures? What is the appearance of the intermediate state? Where does one's own mind become liberated? After liberation, how does compassion arise? And so on. Also, in the Tantra of the Garland of Precious Pearls, it says: How all that is expressed is merely counted, but the Sutra is condensed into a profound meaning. The state of abiding is inconceivable, but wisdom is of three kinds. Although many kinds of delusion are taught, they are spontaneous accomplishment and compassion. One's own place is body, awareness, and wisdom. Abiding is mind, in the center of citta The path is the wind that transforms the four channels. The gate of manifestation is the eyes and so on. The unconditioned sky gathers in the realm. How to practice? It is trekchö and tögal. The measure is the yoga of the four confidences. The intermediate state is the union of mother and child. The place of liberation itself is the beginning. So it is. Now, to explain the branches in detail, the first place of the vajra, enlightened and become

Has not yet arisen. Before non-enlightenment and before sentient beings have arisen, one should ascertain the way the basis, the nature of reality, exists, and the way the basis-appearance manifests from it. As it says in the "Six Spaces": "Alas, Teacher Samantabhadra! Before the very first teacher existed, sentient beings, sentient beings, had not yet been established in this way. Before buddhas, buddhas, had been established, how did this basis exist?" There are three teachings on this: the way the original basis exists, the way the basis-appearance arises from it, and the way Samantabhadra is liberated. The first has two parts: a general explanation of the categories of the seven bases, and a specific explanation of the primordially pure original basis. The first is: In general, the Dzogchen system's view of the basis does not go beyond seven: the view that the basis is spontaneously accomplished, the view that the basis is indeterminate, the view that the basis is the determinate essence of meaning, the view that the basis can be transformed into anything, the view that the basis can be accepted as anything, the view that the basis is diverse, and the view that the basis is primordially pure. As it also says in the "Consequence Argument": "The way of existence that is established from the beginning, is also in the manner of seven existences. From the aspect of diversity, it is spontaneously accomplished. From the measure of change, it is indeterminate. From immutability, it is determinate. The power of appearance can be transformed into anything. Because all arise, it includes acceptance. Because delusions are purified, it is primordially pure. The manner of appearance is considered variegated. From the distinctions of such views, because Dzogchen appears as anything, although there are many different views, for the view of the nature of existence, there is no one, no two, free from anything." And in the "Six Spaces": "The basis that is established from the beginning, existence is not other than one. From the aspects that appear as delusion, if determined by conceptual thoughts, it appears as seven stages. The appearance of the seven stages, is also from the way of appearance of one essence. Because one is not known, it appears in that way. However, the meaning of that is as follows: When abiding as spontaneously accomplished, it appears as the essence of the gathering of diversity. When abiding as indeterminate, it appears as the aspect of the moving mind. When abiding as the determinate self-nature, it appears as the unmoving memory. When abiding as transformable, it appears as the striving intellect.
