Homage to the glorious Samantabhadra! Having attained the supreme nectar of Dharma, guiding beings to the immortal peace, I pay homage to the feet of the three times victorious vidyadhara ocean and the holy lama. At the Bodhi tree of Dharmakaya. "The meaning of manifest enlightenment being inherent." "The manner of manifesting when the time comes." I write the essential instructions on 'Da-kha, life and death.' In this, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana arise from the state of awareness, abide in the state, and are liberated in the state. There is not the slightest movement elsewhere, like the appearance of the formation and destruction of the vessel and essence in the state of space. All sentient beings initially grasp the five self-radiant lights of awareness as self, so the five elements that appear as the vessel and essence body also become habitual tendencies. Finally, at the time of death, the five impure elements dissolve into clarity, merging into the initial place of origin, thus the cycle of existence is liberated into nirvana, there is such a state. Therefore, it is crucial to cut all the red threads of the instructions at that time. Regarding this, there are three aspects: how the elements dissolve, how appearances arise, and how thoughts are liberated. The first is: at the time of death, appearances are gathered under the control of the mind, so the consciousness that engages with the external object of grasping is gathered inward, and the mind is gathered under the control of wisdom, thus entering into the nature of reality. The first also arises from oneself, so the last also dissolves into oneself. As it is said in 'Kunsel': "This illusory appearance of the world, because it first arises from oneself, ultimately dissolves naturally from oneself, appearance gathers under the control of the mind." "Separated from the object of grasping, when the mind turns into the control of wisdom, separated from the mind that grasps." Then, first earth dissolves into earth, the body becomes heavy and consciousness becomes dull. Then water dissolves into water, the body's mouth and nose become dry. Then wind dissolves into wind, the body and consciousness become dim and heavy. At that time fire dissolves into fire, the body loses warmth. Consciousness dissolves into the realm of space, feeling is separated from the duality of pleasure and pain, and abides in the expanse without limitation. Thus, the elements dissolve individually, the wind of both wind and mind goes out from the lungs into the sky, does not return, and vanishes, the mind gathers in the heart.

When awareness momentarily abides in the clear blue appearance of primordial purity, one recognizes the intention of the Dharmakaya in the present moment and, merging with it, attains Buddhahood in the Dharmakaya in an instant. There are two ways of dying when the elements are being gathered: one is to die with sickness and pain in the state of Kuntuzangpo, and the other is to die without pain in the state of Kuntuzangmo. The first is when the winds reverse and all diseases gather in the life force, which is pain. At that time, awareness is clear and lucid, and discriminating wisdom arises. The second is when the thigle gathers in the life force and appears as the clear light of bliss, and recognizing one's own face becomes a condition for liberation. At this time, the horse of the winds and awareness separate, and mind and wisdom turn their backs on each other. Secondly, the way appearances arise is: at that time, awareness arises from within the heart and enters the life channel like a white silk thread. When it emerges from the lamp of the gate of water, it is called the nose string of Vajrasattva, the rope of the continuous stream of compassion. From the two eyes, a white and red rope of light, bright and clear, pierces into the center of the sky. From this, the appearance of five lights spreads and fills the sky, shaking the wheel of illusory appearances, and the pure Buddhafield appears for five days. Thirdly, the way of liberation of intention is: by focusing on that appearance without distraction, one is liberated upwards through the void without the bardo, and one attains one's own place in the precious womb of the Dharmakaya. At the time of death, the red thread of all instructions is cut here, that is, awareness of the emptiness of space and the sky. When the nose string of Vajrasattva appears, liberation is attained by focusing on it without changing one's own appearance. As it says in "Union of Sun and Moon": "If the expanse and awareness do not change, that person will be without the bardo, there is no doubt that they will attain Buddhahood." And in the prophecy of the introduction to the Buddha: "Secret Lord, at the time when the elements separate the pure from the impure, wisdom arises from the center of one's own heart, and when the light shines outwards, in the sky in front of oneself, what is called the seeing and hearing of wisdom, the five colors of light, will appear clearly to oneself. Recognizing it is like applying gold-transforming paint to iron, or like lighting a lamp in a dark room, and one is liberated upwards through the void in an instant. Son of the lineage, when one's breath has not yet ceased, it is also called the nose string of Vajrasattva, the continuous stream of compassion.
