If the objects of appearance are analyzed into atoms, does the mind arise from the objects and move? If the moments of the indweller's own mind are analyzed, are there essence, characteristics, signs, shapes, and colors? If examined carefully, nothing is found, and one goes into an inexpressible, ordinary state. This is called the realization of the original pure state. By seeing the essence from the key point, one knows that all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are without basis and primordially liberated. Therefore, it is necessary to realize one's own mind as empty and clear. Thus, it is very important to be skilled in the preliminaries. Be careful and attentive, and with great devotion and diligence, practice each object of focus for seven days for the superior, five days for the intermediate, and three days for the inferior. The second meaning, the main part of introducing oneself to one's own nature, is twofold: introducing rigpa (覺性) as empty and unarisen, and introducing luminosity as spontaneously accomplished. The first has four parts: deciding through view, experiencing through meditation, removing obstacles through conduct, and abandoning hope and doubt regarding the result. The first is: one's own rigpa (覺性) is empty and clear, free from the elaborations of existence and non-existence. This is because it cannot be found by analysis, it cannot be established on any grounds, and it transcends the subject of yes or no. Although it cannot be identified as "existent," it does not fall into nihilistic annihilation. Rigge (覺性), singnge (醒然), yere (赤裸), wallewa (瓦拉拉), the ordinary consciousness remains in its own state, like the sky. The second, experiencing through meditation, has two parts: introducing the rigpa (覺性) of one's own state without alteration, and introducing the self-arisen rigpa (覺性) as great self-liberation. The first is to relax the body and mind, and in the state of mind without contraction or expansion, to introduce the uninterrupted radiance of rigpa (覺性) arising from within. There are three examples, five natures, and four signs of warmth. The three examples are: like a cloud in the sky, without reliance in any of the outer, inner, or intermediate places. Because the activity of scattering and gathering thoughts has ceased, rigpa (覺性) naturally remains in its own state, like a water-depleted self-grinding mill. Because one knows the natural state of one's own state, there is no burden of effort, accomplishment, hope, or doubt, like a person who has finished a task. The five natures are: when abiding in this way, abiding in the state, being grasped by mindfulness, not changing into thoughts, cutting off hope and doubt, and being without sinking or excitement. The four signs of warmth are: when meditating in this way, one feels as if there is no body or mind, and the sky

And feeling like it's blended into one, and feeling unable to separate from the joy and bliss that arises from samadhi, the original face without any hope or fear and dualistic clinging in either samsara or nirvana. From the depths of one's heart, a decisive wisdom arises, feeling that this itself is the intention of the Buddha. By becoming accustomed to these, even without wanting them, qualities such as the divine eye, clairvoyance, and magical powers will arise. The second is to introduce self-arising and self-liberation: When abiding in the clear essence, all the various thoughts, memories, and awarenesses that arise should be recognized as self-arising and self-liberating without a trace. Three examples, five natures, four signs of warmth. The three examples are: Abiding in what arises from the play of the clear essence of mind, and the play dissolves into the nature of mind, like waves dissolving into a river. The arising dissolves without a trace, like drawing a line on water. Self-liberation by oneself, like a snake's knot. The five natures are: When abiding in this way, being able to recognize the arising. Thoughts not connecting before and after. Naturally vanishing without a trace, clear and bright, with a refreshing feeling. No duality of extension and abiding. The four signs of warmth are: By becoming accustomed to this, thoughts do not harm the abiding of the mind. Thoughts and non-thoughts are equal. The five poisons are purified as they arise and are liberated, so attachment is pacified like space. Meeting dissolves without a trace, so adverse conditions are turned into the path. Equality and subsequence merge without difference, so meditation abides like a river's flow. Third, eliminating obstacles through conduct, divided into two parts: When abiding in clear equanimity, appearances and mind dissolve into non-duality, so one should train in letting go of the six aggregates. Since one knows that subsequent appearances are unreal, one should train in the eight similes of illusion, so that the appearance of objects dissolves into illusion. The first point is: When meditating in clear self-arising and self-liberation, since one's own mind abides in non-arising, the objects of the six senses, form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and the six objects of mind, clinging naturally reverses, and in oneself, there is no clinging to appearances, thus recognizing one's own original face. The second point is: One should know that all appearances are like illusions and dreams. The three examples of such conduct are: Knowing that there is no clinging to the appearance of objects, meeting without clinging, acting like a madman. No clinging to appearances, acting like an illusion. No acceptance or rejection, no hope or fear, acting like a child. The five natures are the various appearances of objects
