May the two additional texts, the Namkhai Longchen, reside here. Called Namkhai Longchen Homage to the Bhagavan, glorious Vajrasattva! Being the basis of glorious and excellent qualities, The treasury from which Buddhas and Bodhisattvas arise as desired, The Dharma realm, immaculate and utterly pure, Homage to the unmoving, free from elaboration! The ultimate essence of all secret mantras, The directly perceived, radiant Vajra essence, The way that accords with all and surpasses all, As the scriptures say, I will clarify by summarizing. From the basis, the realm, the path, and the fruit of liberation, The realm is radiant, naturally perfect in its essence. Possessing the essence of emptiness, clarity, and awareness, Indivisible, endowed with a multitude of qualities, Like the sun, spontaneously perfect, its nature utterly pure. Primordially empty of defilements with distinctions, From the beginning, utterly pure, the radiant nature of reality. Because this exists, from awareness and unawareness, Arise the appearances of nirvana and the six realms. As soon as they arise, in that realm of essence, There is no good or bad, change, purity, or impurity. Just as in the realm of space, the four elements Are not stained by the appearances of change, The revealer of all is called the source realm. The mind, the support of defilements, naturally perfect, Mind itself is called radiant by nature, Like the sun and clouds, by sudden defilements, Obscured, therefore called the element, abiding for a long time, Called the beginningless Dharma element, virtuous, Because it is the way things are, regarded as ultimate truth, Beyond the realm of thought, therefore the Perfection of Wisdom, Uncompounded, therefore the spontaneously perfect mandala itself, The treasury of the ocean of qualities such as strength, Therefore it is said that the Tathagatagarbha pervades all beings. An example of being obscured even though it exists within oneself: Like a treasure beneath the earth and a lamp inside a vase, A fruit in its husk and a Tathagata in the earth, A jewel in rotten cloth and a gem in muddy mire, Honey in a lotus and a precious stone in rock, A giant's gem and gold in silver mud, A fruit on a tree and butter in milk, A great silk cloth of a thousand worlds, and so on, By these, it is closely illustrated as stated in the scriptures. The element of awareness pervades all beings entirely. This is said to be the basis of the definitive essence.

From such a realm, self-awareness is liberated, In half a moment of distinction, one becomes enlightened, The primordial protector, whose qualities have reached the far shore, With pure inner, as-it-is seeing, The first Buddha established the Dharma assembly. In the beginningless realm, difficult to fathom for a long time, By the power of ignorance, the six realms are deluded, Small beings are the three lower realms, Medium beings are humans, and great beings are gods, As the Victorious Ones have said, arising from ignorance, Each with their own place, enjoyment, suffering, and happiness, Like dreams arising from sleep and intoxication, Various appearances of existence, vessel, and essence manifest. Upon the Alaya, the essence of the Sugata, First, ignorance is unmanifested awareness, Various habitual patterns are the basis of the Alaya and the support of samsara. From that arises the Alaya consciousness itself, The five sense consciousnesses, the discriminating mind, The afflicted mind, and the eight aggregates of consciousness arise. Through that, actions and afflictions are combined, Habitual patterns form in objects, meanings, and bodies, Various deluded appearances of happiness and suffering continue without ceasing, Like a water wheel, this is samsara. In short, the root of delusion in samsara Is ignorance itself, from which arise grasping and being grasped. From that, actions and afflictions are combined, And the fruits, various happiness and suffering of existence, appear. Because they arise from conditions, and are suddenly compounded, They are untrue, deceptive, and of the nature of delusion. The world manifested by the movement of conceptual thought, Is impermanent and subject to destruction because it is compounded. Different kinds of ignorance give rise to grasping and being grasped, Volition is like the thumb and forefinger of a person, Action is like the bowstring that propels, Taking is like a quiver, sentient beings are like arrows, Afflictions are like a target, happiness and suffering appear separately. Therefore, the fruit born from the arising of karma Is the suffering being tormented by afflictions in samsara, The opportunity to exhaust karma and liberate from afflictions is rare. From the cause of moment-to-moment conceptual thought, Fruits of happiness and suffering naturally arise one after another. Therefore, seek the means to turn away from that. From such a sea of suffering and faults in samsara, To liberate beings, the Victorious Ones taught the boat of Dharma, The entrances to various vehicles are inconceivable. This is the ultimate, definitive essence, The pinnacle of sutras, tantras, and instructions, the Clear Light.
