Or abide? Even at such times, recognize the state of self-occurring primordial liberation, immutability, ease, and openness as the nature beyond thought and expression, thereby recognizing your own face." "Those also abide in the natural state, thoughts cease, there is no effort, liberation from hope and fear, no narrowness or vastness, no clinging to lineage, and cultivate in the nature that is not distracted and not defiled by concepts." Thus, firmly fix it. Third, regarding the method of cultivating post-meditation appearances, there are two aspects: In meditative equipoise, do not cling to the naked wisdom of awareness and emptiness, but rather let it be self-illuminating, vast, and relaxed. That is, the eye seeing forms, the ear hearing sounds, the nose smelling scents, the tongue tasting flavors, the body feeling touch, and the mind's conceptual gatherings of affirmation and negation, etc., the six appearances as phenomena, know that these are impure objects and let them go. Knowing in the state of awareness, not following after thoughts, clear and lucid, cultivate in a state without hope, fear, or artificial defilement. Thus, the objects of appearance are self-liberated without being abandoned, the clinging mind is self-liberated without being abandoned, and the eye purified in the inseparability of appearance and mind becomes the unobstructed divine eye, able to see through walls, fences, mountains, and other obstacles, seeing things on the other side, and so on. The ear can hear the voices of gods and nagas, and various sounds of different sizes. The nose can sense pure scents that transcend the human realm. The tongue can enjoy the hundred flavors of meditative absorption, thereby not needing food. The body's bliss and clarity, the warmth of wisdom rises. The mind can remember countless lifetimes of oneself and others, and be controlled by supernormal powers, thereby being able to enjoy the exhaustion of outflows. In post-meditation, know that all appearances are like the eight similes of illusion, thereby liberating from attachment, aversion, and afflictions. For the play of good and bad thoughts, whatever arises, be certain that it is without foundation or root. Do not cling or grasp. Until the clinging to self has not dissolved into the dharmadhatu, cultivate the profound instructions, be cautious of the karma of cause and effect, practice pure perception and devotion, and make your mind without flaws. Guard vows and commitments, and dwell alone in solitude." "Abandon distraction and busyness, rely on useless things. Be without attachment or clinging, cultivate on the path of non-clinging. Constantly contemplate death, ignite diligence like fire. Spend days and nights with virtue, abandon the affairs of this life. Constantly rely on the lama, generate devotion and reverence.

Kindle the fire. Take it to the path of no aim and leave it in a state of non-doing." "Abandon the clinging to self and other, and cut the root of hope and doubt. Transform adverse conditions into the path, and view whatever appears as the guru. Knowing that all is self-appearance, abandon self-grasping and attachment. Since there is no essence whatsoever, cultivate the illusion of non-reality. Knowing the primordial emptiness and the present emptiness, self-appearance will naturally arise. Abide in such means and conduct, and pass the days and nights. When the mind is scattered, train in the power of awareness. Strive for practice in solitude. As long as there is clinging to acceptance and rejection, adopt and abandon virtue and vice, and train in the meaning of non-duality. When nothing appears as a companion, change the guidance of the instructions and look at the meaning of awareness. When fear of birth and death arises, practice the meaning of non-arising and non-ceasing, so that when everything inside and outside appears as dharmata, abide in the yoga of the unconditioned river-like flow. Thus, by pointing out the key points of the profound instructions. May the grasping and the grasped of the fortunate ones be self-liberated. May all beings be spontaneously accomplished in the place of primordial, natural, Samantabhadra. The meaning instruction of Trekchö, the original abiding, is completed, composed by the yogi of the supreme vehicle, Longchen Rabjam. Good! Good! Good! From the Legacy of the Ancestors, The Collected Works of Longchen Rabjam, (9) The Meaning Instruction of Trekchö, the Original Abiding.
