The method of placing them in the mandala is as follows: The students should face the eastern sky with their bodies in the correct posture. The lama, with a melodious voice, says, "Ema, fortunate ones, go further and further into the center of the eastern sky." He says this three times. Then he says, "Is there a place to go? Is there a guide to go?" He says this. Similarly, apply this to the south, west, and north. This is the method of placing the mind in emptiness, free from conceptualization. Then, the lama raises his finger and waves it three times in the expanse of the sky, and says, "Look at the expanse of the sky." Saying this three times demonstrates the Dharmakaya, the mandala of pure equality. Then, the method of showing the wisdom deity is as follows: All the students should wear upper garments and sit in the lotus position. Visualize the sun above surrounded by four suns, and the five suns rising higher and higher, until they finally disappear. The meaning of this is explained as follows: "Ema, fortunate ones, in the center of that sky, focus your awareness on the five radiant sun mandalas, and go higher and higher." After saying this three times, he also says three times, "Do not return." These five suns are the appearance of the five wisdoms, and rising higher and becoming invisible means dissolving into the expanse. The three "Do not return" symbolize not returning from the state of the three kayas. Then, the lama stands up, stretches out his right hand, bends his left hand, points his finger at his eye, and recites "A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A)," doing this four times in each of the four directions. Stretching out the right hand cuts off the proliferation of samsara, bending the left hand symbolizes the appearance of nirvana, pointing the finger symbolizes the arising of wisdom from the eye, and reciting "A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A)" symbolizes liberation into non-birth in this life. This should be shown. Then, point the finger at the sky, fix the eyes intently on the sky, and say, "This sky is so vast!" He says this three times. Raising the finger is a symbol of the bindu appearing in the sky. Looking with sharp eyes symbolizes the way of seeing. Saying these words symbolizes the cessation of deluded appearances, the arising of the appearance of wisdom, and dissolving into the expanse. This should be explained. Then, incidentally, explain the purification of the mandala, saying: "O fortunate ones, on the mandala of fragrance, arranging a bouquet of five flowers is the object of offering."

It symbolizes the nature of being inseparable as the basis of the Dharma. That is, from the original pure realm, wisdom spontaneously abides, and during the path, in the center of the precious Cittā, the nature of the luminous awareness abides, and at the time of fruition, the four visions are perfected, abiding in the great realm of Dharmata, symbolizing the self-radiance of the five wisdoms. Know that the five sets of fivefold mandalas symbolize the means of enjoying the twenty-five wisdoms. Thus it is said. Third, the praise: Having obtained the empowerment of utter simplicity, one enjoys the Dharmakaya realm, and the obscurations of the mind are purified, and one obtains the empowerment of the wrathful realm of the blazing Bhānda palace, and without effort, one is liberated in the intermediate state, and with effort, one is liberated in this life, and one has the power to meditate on the emptiness of Dharmata. Thus it is said. Thus, the empowerment of utter simplicity and peace, adorned with subtle and precious ornaments, summarizing the meaning, may this, which is arranged for the sake of fortunate beings in the future, may all beings attain the Bodhi of Samantabhadra. From the division of the empowerment of the Secret Essence, it is called "The Net of Lotus," which clarifies the ritual of the empowerment of the wisdom of utter simplicity. Composed by the supreme vehicle yogi Longchen Rabjampa at Gangri Thökar (White Skull Snow Mountain), it is complete. Good! Good! Good! From "Legacy of the Ancestors," the collected works of Longchen Rabjampa, (9) "The Empowerment Ritual of Utter Simplicity, The Net of Lotus."
