Having been liberated from the cage of bondage, abiding continuously in the view and samadhi of the Great Perfection, merely reaching the point of grasping the beginning of the path to liberation. Especially due to the actions of past karma and aspirations, having come to the direction of the self-arisen lotus practice place, the Five-Peaked Mountain of Tibet (possibly referring to the five peaks in the Ganzi area of Sichuan). To some fortunate individuals endowed with karma and merit, the excellent path of the radiant Vajra Essence was made manifest. Day and night, with diligence benefiting others, merely with good wishes. In the presence of the holy lama, offering five times the completely pure three-circle offerings, and making offerings with seven kinds of purity. To the heroes and dakinis, holding the tenth and eighth day offerings of every month, making the giving meaningful with faith. Regarding appearances and mind as merely a play of illusion, practicing according to the sacred Dharma, without erring in grasping the essential points of the true instructions. Because of easily realizing it, in order to make it easy to practice, many instructions were written down. In particular, the essential points of the thirty-five monasteries, the instructions like the wish-fulfilling jewel, were written down. For the benefit of future generations, it is accompanied by the seal of aspiration prayers. In the future, those who follow me should also cast aside the activities of this life and embrace the activities of the next life. Rely on a true virtuous friend, request the instructions of the radiant essence of the heart, and in a solitary secluded place, practice the secret instructions of the heart essence, using this life to distinguish between samsara and nirvana. If prophecies arise, then do whatever is possible to benefit others. Endure all wrong views and weariness, and cause the instructions to flourish and expand. In short, all the previous lamas except for me have been uninterrupted holy lamas. The histories of their greatness can be found in their respective biographical writings and the clear and extensive ways of transmission. In this way, the historical accounts of the transmission of the teachings, may all beings enter this supreme Great Vehicle essence, and quickly attain the radiant heart of enlightenment! In past lives, having diligently trained for eons, in this life, the meaning of the Great Vehicle essence is seen. 此究竟之教言，请以恭敬之心努力修持。自他二利如意海，是成办一切愿望之圆满。名为《大圆满甚深心滴之历史宝鬘》。是触及持明上师圣者鸠摩罗什之足尘的胜乘瑜伽士龙钦饶绛于冈日托嘎（雪山名）之山腰所著。善哉！善哉！善哉！交付于具光咒主母埃嘎扎智与星曜大护法罗睺罗及誓盟金刚善三者，故若窜改文字，则当严厉惩罚！勿交付于无誓盟者！令具缘者善妙兴盛！《先祖遗教》中，龙钦饶绛之著作集，第九函，《历史宝鬘》。

This ultimate instruction, please diligently practice with reverence. The two benefits of self and others are like a wish-fulfilling ocean, accomplishing the fulfillment of all desires. It is called "The Precious Garland of the History of the Great Perfection, the Secret Heart Drop." It was written by the supreme vehicle yogi Longchen Rabjam, who touched the dust of the feet of the holy vidyadhara guru Kumaraja, on the mountainside of Gangri Thökar (a snow mountain). Auspicious! Auspicious! Auspicious! Entrusted to the glorious mantra mistress Ekajati, the great planetary benefactor Rahula, and the oath-bound Vajra Lekpa, therefore, if the letters are altered or corrupted, may a severe punishment be inflicted! Do not entrust it to those without vows! May it flourish excellently for the fortunate ones!
