There are three aspects to sound and mind: generally explained through the three aspects of mind, abiding, element, and essence. Specifically explained as the way it is the sound of wisdom. Summarizing the meaning by how it abides in the nature of the Buddha. Third, there are two ways of how they meet and separate: the way they meet now and the way they will separate later. Among these, there are two: temporary and ultimate. The second general meaning, there are two ways of taking the path in between: ripening empowerment and liberating instructions. The first has five: the qualities of empowerment, the faults of not empowering, awareness and things, and vows. Fourth, the actual empowerment has five: with elaboration, without elaboration, extremely without elaboration, most without elaboration, and the supreme power empowerment. The first has two: causing the unobtained to be obtained, and causing the obtained to be established in the continuum. The second meaning, liberating instructions, has two: a credible history and the instructions arising from it. The first has three: the faults of not explaining, the qualities of explaining, and the actual explanation. Second, the instructions have three: the instructions for attaining enlightenment in this life through superior diligence, the intermediate bardo, and the instructions for attaining enlightenment in the realm of the self-existing manifestation for the inferior. There are three: the three preliminaries cause the unborn state of union of calm and insight to arise; the three main practices cause the arisen to be recognized; and the three subsequent self-liberations cause the arisen to be utilized and practiced. The first has three: first, cutting off the root of conceptualization; second, searching for the flaws of the mind; and third, examining the limits of the three sources of arising, abiding, and going. The second, recognition, has three: abiding arises as the ornament of the mind; scattering arises as the play of the mind; and abiding in the state of non-duality and equality. The third, practice, has three: self-liberation of the three poisons, the five gates, and the six consciousnesses. The second meaning, the main practice, has three: the way in which the preliminary uncontaminated wisdom arises in the continuum; the recognition of the main practice itself; and the way in which the subsequent four yogas are practiced. The first has three: the way in which the activities of body, speech, and mind are abandoned; the way in which the key points of the three doors are seized; and the way in which the secret path of the three wisdoms is shown. The second has three: body, speech, and mind. The third, the secret path, has three: the key point of the door, the key point of the object, and the key point of the winds and awareness. The second, recognition, has three: the three kayas, the three jewels, and the five aggregates and seven elements are recognized. The third, the way of practice, has four: view, meditation, conduct, and result. The first has six: essence, the way of completion, definition, division, the way of practice, and name. The third, the way of the arising of appearances, has four: the manifestation of dharmata, the increase of experience, the attainment of the measure of awareness, and the appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata. The seventh has two: experiential experience and appearance experience. The fourth, reliance on the limit, has four: establishing the foundation with the three immovables, grasping the measure with the three abidings, nailing down with the three attainments, and showing the measure of liberation with the four measures of liberation. The first has three: body, eye, bindu, and awareness. Here, the measure is grasped by dreams, and signs arise from body, speech, and mind. The third, attainment, has three: birth, entry, wind, and mind. The fourth, the four measures of liberation, has four: the upper two and the lower two. The second, the intermediate, has two: the general classification of the bardo and the specific way of showing how to practice. The first has four: classification, boundary, nature, and way of appearance. The second has four: cutting off the doubts of hesitation in the bardo of birth.
