The Empowerment Ritual of Non-Elaboration Resides Here. The Jewel Arrangement. Homage to the Bhagavan, the glorious Vajradhara who has completely pacified all elaborations. For the sake of sentient beings with faith and fortune, and also for the meaning of the Great Perfection of Naturalness, in order to clarify the entrance without ignorance, adorned with the embellishments of fine lines and precious shapes, for the very purpose of perfecting the four empowerments, having shown that for the sake of delighting in elaboration, now also for the sake of being free from elaboration, this very place of bestowing the empowerment of non-elaboration, like this, must be upheld by those who possess the samaya. If a fortunate one is to perfect the four empowerments, or for those who do not delight in elaboration, like this, the empowerment of non-elaboration, the empowerment of the Great Perfection of Naturalness, this is for two or three fortunate ones who possess the vessel, but if there are more than that, the transgression of the samaya will fall. Such a faithful one who has turned away from samsara, whose natural behavior is good and relaxed, whose conceptualization is small, who is content with little desire, is a vessel of the Great Perfection of Naturalness. Empower such disciples from one to two or three. Therein, the order of what the teacher should do first, and also the order of what the student should do first. Therein, the student offers the request for empowerment to the lama himself, and for the sake of entering into the ability of that, requests the empowerment again from his own lama. If he does not reside, then from his own lama residing in the sky, receiving the empowerments of non-elaboration and so on, and one should supplicate the lamas of the lineage, and in order to purify the defilements, one should become fluent in the three syllables (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning), and in order to generate the meaning of non-duality in the mind, one should meditate on the samaya of the five wisdoms, and in order to turn away from samsara, one should meditate on impermanence in the continuum, and in order to follow the conduct, one should diligently practice the twenty-one actions to be done, and in order to remember the meaning of the view, one should seal with emptiness and so on, which are the actions that the teacher should do first. Thus, after the teacher has completed the preliminary order, the faithful student, also in order to liberate from samsara, meditates on impermanence in a secluded place.

After teaching all the oral instructions, let them meditate; let them meditate for five days, or seven days, or eleven days. After meditating in this way, strong faith will definitely arise, and they will definitely become weary and discouraged with samsara. Then, the Vajra Master explains the faults of samsara and the qualities of the Buddha, and for the non-elaborate empowerment, the master and disciples go to an extremely secluded place; inside the dwelling, fragrant perfumes of various kinds are sprinkled everywhere, and the mandala is made round, as smooth as a mirror; in the center of the mandala, a crossed and very exquisite red vase is drawn with colored powders, with face ornaments and necklaces; the edge of the circle is surrounded by a fence of five colors; to its east, on a wooden throne, three precious vases that are not cracked, not broken, and not dented are placed, filled with various medicines, various grains, various jewels, milk, and ghee, etc., and decorated with trees bearing flowers and fruits, and the necks are tied with three strips of pure white cloth that are spotless and have intact edges. Like this, on top of each vase, three mirrors, three peacock feathers, and three agates are placed. Then, all the disciples are brought out from the bathing water outside, adorned with new clothes and other ornaments, with palms joined and arranged neatly in a row; in order to pacify the obstacles of the evil spirits, the Karma Master fumigates with the smoke of Guggul incense. Then, for the sake of the non-elaborate empowerment, a jewel-gold mandala is offered, with palms joined and sitting respectfully. The characteristics of samsara are shown. To this, the master says: Born in the Jambudvipa (Earth), which is particularly superior to the continents; obtained the precious human body that is difficult to obtain; possessed the five faculties that are difficult to complete; abiding in the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, which are difficult to encounter; having encountered the precious Dharma that is difficult to encounter; if one does not practice the Dharma, life will be empty and futile; therefore, in this life, one must obtain the perfect precious Buddha fruit, and all sentient beings must be guided with compassion; therefore, one must achieve accomplishment in this life, and one must generate such a determination, and then enter the path of maturation; this is the method to liberate it.
