Instructions in fragmented essential points, seventy-four in number. First instruction. Homage to the Bhagavan, glorious Vajradhara, the Great One༔Extremely secret, fragmented essential points of guidance, secret drop essence of key points༔Making the hidden manifest and definitive༔First, establishing the ground༔The ground, the great original purity༔Its nature is uninterrupted anywhere༔Not falling to any side༔Its nature is luminous and uninterrupted, like a vase body, the five lights clear without mixing༔Like a rainbow in the sky༔It is clear and unobstructed༔The illuminator is unestablished༔How do samsara and nirvana arise from such a state༔That ground is primordially established as the three—body, reality, light, realm, awareness, and lineage—just as the basis of oil is established in sesame seeds༔There are two types of beings: those with sharp faculties of nature and༔those with dull faculties of nature༔Those with dull faculties of nature are like not recognizing one's own face when it appears in a mirror༔Those with sharp faculties are like recognizing one's own face when it appears in a mirror. On that ground, there is what is called the self-wind of wisdom, and awareness stirs just as a hair moves in the sun's heat༔When radiance dawns outward, it is liberated upward through four conditions: the causal condition, the four appearances from the ground, the reality of things; the lord condition, the lineage of self-awareness, wisdom; the object condition, self-knowing, the appearance of dharmata in the mind; the accompanying condition, in an instant, together with clusters, one becomes enlightened in the forty-two peaceful deities of the sambhogakayaThen the four maras are subdued in their own nature. By knowing it as one's own appearance, the mara of the son of the gods is subdued. By wisdom seizing one's own body, the mara of the aggregates is subdued. Because the body of wisdom is without afflictions, the mara of afflictions is subdued. Because the body of wisdom is without birth and death, the mara of death is subdued, and one attains nirvanaFrom the sambhogakaya, one is liberated into the spontaneously accomplished, precious, secret chamber, and one attains perfect nirvana. This also shows the way of liberation. ཨྠིྀ(Tibetan, Devanagari Sanskrit, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning)༔From those with dull faculties of nature, because they do not recognize their own appearance when a face appears in a mirror, for example,

It is like knowing it as someone else's possession. Because the Dharmakaya, space, and awareness are seen as appearances of others, the Dharmakaya is mistaken for the physical body, space is mistaken for the environment, and awareness is mistaken for the mind. When falling into error, there are four causes: not recognizing self-appearance as the root cause, considering self-appearance as other is the lord cause, the erroneous appearance arising downwards is the object cause, and these occurring simultaneously is the immediate cause. Because of not recognizing self-appearance, the demon of the son of the gods arises; because of taking the contaminated aggregates, the demon of the aggregates arises; because the contaminated aggregates have afflictions, the demon of afflictions arises; because the contaminated aggregates have birth and death, the demon of the Lord of Death arises. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning). First, the way in which samsara and nirvana arise from that basis is shown, and now the way in which the three, Dharmakaya, light, and awareness, abide in the contaminated body is shown. First, as it abides in the basis, so it abides in the contaminated body. The three, Dharmakaya, light, and awareness, are liberated, namely Dharmakaya, speech, and mind. Falling downwards into error becomes the three, body, speech, and mind. Where does it abide? It abides in what is called "Samantabhadri's Gau Box." In the Gau of the light of consciousness, the Dharmakaya is the size of a mustard seed. The peaceful Dharmakaya abides as the crown ornament of the wrathful deity, abiding in the manner of father and mother. In the ossuary, the Dharmakaya of the wrathful deity abides. The peaceful Dharmakaya appears from a path as small as a white silk thread. Coming out from the gate of the eye sense, it enters the space of the Dharma nature, abiding at a distance of one cubit from the head that arises on its own. A chain of bindus appears, and the appearance of the Dharmakaya also appears on the joints of the chain of bindus. One's own essence appears from the root bindu, and the appearance of the face appears within the bindu. From the root veins of self-nature, light and subtle bindus appear, which is the compassion that pervades and manifests all phenomena and realms. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning). The three, Dharmakaya, light, and awareness, appear from the eye. Because it is clear and transparent, free from all obscurations, it is like a precious cat's eye gem. Establishing the three, Dharmakaya, light, and awareness, is the boundary between samsara and nirvana, the path of nirvana. How to practice it? In space, practice the chain of bindus without gathering or scattering. The extent to which practice is attained is that the attachment to body and speech naturally ceases, transcending the attachment to the three kayas. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning). That also abides in the lamp of completely pure space—the Avadhuti. That also abides with the five lights and the Dharmakaya. The lamp of empty bindu abides in the vein of pure Dharma nature, like the eye of a fish. In the bindu of light,
