Among them, the distinctions of substances, And the recitation that makes the previous action feasible, And the recitation for applying to the action, And immediately examining interdependence, etc., There are many, the first is: The interdependent substances, etc., should be gathered, Displaying the supports of body, speech, and mind, One flawless mirror as the support for summoning, Two arrow-banners adorned with five-colored silks, Three barley grains without eyes as the support for the life force, Four mandalas of vermilion, Five wheels of the life force of the ḍākinīs, These are indispensable supreme substances. Incense mixed with various fragrances for fumigation, And white mustard seeds with power for expulsion, Offerings and torma must be complete for fulfillment. The essential substances are saffron, And camphor, white sandalwood, white butter, And eaglewood, musk, and cardamom, The eight medicines must be complete. Or, on top of the six excellences, mix milk and crocodile claws. Or, combine five sets of five: gold, silver, pearl, coral, and agate, these five precious substances. Barley, rice, wheat, beans, and sesame, etc., mixed together, these are the five grains. White honey, milk, yogurt, and butter, etc., mixed together, these are the five nectars. Rock lichen, madder, sea conch, kantakari, and arundinella, mixed together, these are the five medicines. White sandalwood, red sandalwood, nutmeg, camphor, and saffron, these are the five fragrances. The highly elaborate combination is: dzi stone types, conch shell, and blue lotus, musk, saffron, these five are the supreme substances for nourishing the five faculties.
