Its meaning is: As mentioned above, two years after the Wood Monkey year, calculating with Fire, Space, Ocean, plus the month holding the scales, the beginning of the remaining two hundred and twenty-one years is the Fire Dog year. The Wood Monkey year that was not finished above. Moreover, in the Later Propagation period, three Vinaya lineages appeared, namely the Sarvastivada school, and nothing else besides. Among them, the Upper Vinaya does not seem to have developed much. The lineage of Khenpo Shantarakshita, known as the Lower Vinaya, as mentioned above, began in the Water Ox year. From the Earth Tiger year until now, to the Wood Bird year of the Third Rabjung, for two hundred and twenty-two years, lay practitioners, novice monks, and fully ordained monks mostly relied on this Vinaya lineage. The Kadampa lay practitioner Dromtönpa, the monks Khu and Ngok, the three brothers, Langri Tangpa, Sharawa, Narthangpa, and so on, are countless. The great source of the Kagyu school, Dagpo Lhaje, the three Khampa people, Drikung, Taglung, Drukpa, etc., are difficult to count. The Dzogchen of the Nyingma school, the Protector of Jambudvipa, Kadamapa Deshek, etc., are as vast as the ocean. In addition, the learned and accomplished Kyungpo Naljor also relied on Langri Tangpa to receive full ordination due to the prophecy of Vajrasana. The land of snows, known as the New Kadampa school, here, the crown jewel of the Vinaya holders, the successor of Khenpo Shantarakshita, the great Shar Tsongkhapa, is also known for holding the Lower Vinaya lineage, therefore, the Dharma flourished for a long time. Now, this Vinaya lineage still has not been interrupted, which is certainly due to the blessings of the aspiration of Upadhyaya Bodhisattva, who manifested with great compassion to subdue the borderland of Tibet, so I always prostrate from the bottom of my heart with great reverence. What needs to be added here is that in the past there were many people with good fortune, wisdom, and diligence, who were proficient in the Vinaya. The great Vinaya Khenpo Khakhong Drapa Geshe also clarified the meaning of what to adopt and what to abandon, and made efforts to invite monks from China, etc. They attached great importance to the pure tradition, and their disciples, including the general Sangha who are proficient in the Vinaya, especially the ten people from U-Tsang, etc., are in the presence.

It is also impossible to maintain the lineage of vows by sprinkling water and peacock feathers in a state of extreme ignorance. It seems that the two A'e who are said to have done so were also holy beings, so the current abbots of the monasteries slander each other with biased words, which is just a saying to protect wrong views, and they also want to cultivate pure appearances. The so-called Central Vinaya is the emanation of the seventh Buddha of the Good Kalpa, Rabsel, the Pandit Shakya Shri, who came to Tibet in the Wood Mouse year of the third Rabjung (1144) and stayed for ten years, during which many monks who had received the Bhikshu vows, such as the great Sakya Pandit, appeared. Among them, four Sangha communities developed from Vajra Pal and Jangchub Pal, who adhered to the practice of sitting on one seat, so many later saints such as the Lord of the World Jowo Nangpa, the great scholar Buton, relied on this lineage to receive vows, so we should pay homage with great faith. The Later Propagation of the Doctrine says that the Vinaya doctrine declined and then revived, and the Sangha community appeared. Like a golden statue inside ragged clothes, the mantra doctrine did not decline, represented by Gnubs and Zur. The venerable Atisha repeatedly praised the Meaning Practice Essence of the Aro tradition. It is said that when Jowo Rinpoche came to Tibet, there were many who held the teachings of the Heart Essence Meaning Transmission, the pith instructions of Bodhicitta, among whom the most famous was Aro Yeshe Jungne, and his treatise "Mahayana Yoga" was praised as having beautiful words and profound meaning. Aro's disciple, Copper Treasure, was also respectfully bowed to. Aro's grand-disciple, Spa Gom, refined the conventional Bodhicitta and encouraged the expression of the ultimate Bodhicitta with Manjushri and Maitreya. The virtuous friend Potowa also heard the pith instructions on the nature of mind from Spa Gom, and later, after becoming a great virtuous friend, he regarded these as pure Dharmas and practiced them as deities, etc. The pure doctrine of mantra did not decline, with many reasons. However, some ordinary people acted as if they were blessed by demons, and after Atisha came to Tibet, these phenomena were pacified by his grace.

This is also an addendum. Thus, the lineage of the Dharma King and the Tsadpo, along with the circumstances of the Later Propagation period, are all compiled from many reliable texts without any self-fabrication. However, if there are any errors, I confess them before the wise ones with eyes. May the power of this virtue be dedicated to all sentient beings. Remembering the kindness of the Dharma Kings and Panditas, may good deeds and the Protector of the World be quickly accomplished in the sacred Dharma in order to fulfill their intentions! Thus, this brief account of how the sacred Dharma arose in the lineage of the Lhatsadpo was written by the Vidyadhara Gyalkhampa Pal Tshewang Norbu near the completion of the twelfth Rabjung, in the Wood Female Ox year (1745), on the third day of the waxing moon of the middle summer month, in the eastern Shangling Garden, Kongyul Nyangkha Dzongpa Lung Samten's room, in the radiance of clarity. This is not merely the domain of one's own intelligence, but relies solely on rigorous logic. Furthermore, based on seeing some reliable historical records, I slightly embellished and revised it in the Water Bird year (1753) while residing in Wangler, Mangyul, Ngari. If a well-translated Chinese Tang Dynasty historical record could be seen, it would still be worthy of further investigation. Unless previously unknown ancient Tibetan historical sources are found, it seems that there is nothing more to be added to the commonly known information than what has been investigated above. Good! Good! Good! The root of the precious teachings of the Victorious One, which flourishes in the north, the clear mirror of the mind, concise and meaningful, of the lineage of the Tibetan King Lhatsadpo.
