(Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སྭ་སྟི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओṃ स्वस्ति, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svasti, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, auspicious!). By speaking truthfully, he makes samsara painful, and knowing that compounded things are impermanent, he generates renunciation. As he manifestly advises to strive for liberation, I will also speak a little about my own virtuous conduct. Starting from the Water Mouse year, the uncorrupted tradition of the Early Translation school, from the Tathagata until now, not interrupted by treasures and pure visions, but passed down from face to face, ear to ear, and heart to heart, the essence of the eighteen tantra divisions, the empowerment, transmission, and instructions of the Outer Tantra, the Magical Net, and the Secret Essence, were well heard from the concealed holders of the Early Translation Mantras. Similarly, starting from the appearance of the White Year for the great Bodhisattva named Ratna, many rare lineages of the Early Translation, represented by the empowerment and guidance lineage of Karma Nyingthig, were repeatedly requested. During the recitation of the Nyingma Gyübum, the mistress of the land called Mukun Kṣetra in the sacred land, known as Lo in Tibet, also came with great urgency, insisting that we must come to that place. Thus, in the early part of the Sagittarius month, we departed from Ngari Gungtang and arrived in Lo on the third day of the early part of the Aquarius month. All the local people welcomed us with immeasurable music, songs, and dances according to their abilities, and we arrived at the residence in Smonthang. Soon, led by Tsewang, whose wishes were in accordance with their own, many teachings were given to all the people residing there, and the generation of Bodhicitta according to the Madhyamaka system, meditation guidance on Mahakaruna, and many other teachings were given. To various gatherings of people, numbering approximately five hundred, detailed Dharma instructions related to the Guru Sadhana were explained. Among them, profound guidance on the Dzogchen Longchen Nyingthig was imparted to a select few.

Shad! I also inquired from the one named Je Ratna about the remaining part of the Gyübum transmission that was not completed in Gungtang. I also pleased the lama with the three kinds of pleasing, and sent him off to his place. We, the lower Lovo (Glo-bo smad, present-day lower Mustang region), began to go to the place where fire blazes on stone and water, and when we arrived at Gonpa Gang, the protectors Dorje Lekpa (rDo rje legs) and Nyenchen Gejo (gNyan chen ge 'dzo) came and told us how to protect the border of Tibet, and said that although there is no fear of border war this year, it seems that evil gods and demons will come inside, and so on. Then, on the ninth, we arrived at Dzala Gna Dzvala (dza lAgna dzwa la), the actual center of the great sacred site of Lovo (Glo-bo, present-day Mustang), and started from the tenth. During our stay there, we did not slacken in the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and we kept the three mandalas together as much as possible, and we and the monks accumulated hundreds of thousands of torma offerings. We made the heroes and dakinis happy together. At that time, we saw the gathering of dakinis and other amazing sights. We also saw signs that some of the immediate obstacles of the holy beings who had karmic and aspirational connections with us could be pacified. After arriving here, on an uncertain date, a clear voice came to my ears saying, "There will be unrest," but I did not feel very afraid, except for feeling strange. Then, we went to offer a large torma to Kakapa Nekone (kak pa Ne ko ne), which the outsiders consider to be the abode of Vishnu. After that, we rested for a few days at Gonpa Gang, and the lama, the owner of that monastery, entrusted the monastery's land to me as property, and I agreed to accept it for the sake of auspiciousness. Previously, in the common Iron Dog year, the great accomplished Nub Namkhai Nyingpo (gNubs nam mkha'i snying po, 1250 AD) manifested that he had empowered me as the master of all Vajrayana tantras, and in that place, I also had a blue Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) letter painted. I had not gone there before, so this time I went to the village of Gyagad (rgya gad). The local deity Tsen (btsan) was also very happy, and showed the appearance of music and dancing in accordance with the local customs. I also stayed for a few days at Gami Dzong (ga mi'i rdzong), which has the hair knots of Geling (dge gling) and demon iron. Then I went to the great sacred site of Guru, Ge Kar (dge dkar). The local deity there, Dorje Lekdenma (rdo rje legs ldan ma), one of the seven worldly mothers and the nine great cave mistresses, also showed various expressions of joy, and openly boasted of being Milarepa.
