Of his qualities, a treasure of jewels, A mere drop of water from the great ocean, Just a speck, with faith, I offer here, As a gift to dispel the suffering of the devoted. That is, the embodiment of the wisdom, compassion, and power of all the Buddhas, the Vajra of Speech, Amitabha, appearing as the teacher of the supreme mantra, arising from the play of the magical net of the three secrets of the great teacher Padmasambhava. In a previous life, he was the Arhat attendant near our teacher Shakyamuni, and the accomplished master of India, Kanhapa, prophesied by the Victorious Ones, blessed by the black-acting teacher. In Tibet, among the twenty-five king and subjects, he attained accomplishment, the unobstructed self-form of the magical manifestation of the heart of the monk Namkhai Nyingpo, is none other than the glorious great Vidyadhara Tsewang Norbu. In the secret prophecy of the mind treasure, it is said: "Padma, my emanation, blessed by the black one, The rays of light from the heart of Namnying entered, Near Tsanri in the southern Kathok region, A lineage that has abandoned high and low, and is of middling status, The son of two named Gön and Tso, Possessing a name of Wang or Norbu, courageous, Neither large nor small, a beautiful vajra body, Channels, winds, and bindus without defect, gathering dakinis, Conduct that is uncertain, behaving like a child, The color changes every day, uncertain, Possessing the confidence of view, skilled in distinguishing cause and effect, Sharp intelligence, speaking harshly and contemptuously, Vast knowledge, skilled in taming disciples, Clear and stable samadhi, overpowering the appearances of others, Past training, understanding the meaning of sutras and tantras."

The powerful with wisdom discerns Dharma and non-Dharma; if examined immediately, one does not know, like a fool; if one associates for a long time, one steals the pride of all the wise; one who possesses qualities conducts oneself in a truly hidden manner. And so on. Also, one who subdues even the difficult-to-tame demons of others; possessing the valor of a hero and the power of asceticism; especially glorious among many; such a son of mine will appear. Thus, predictions were made regarding body, speech, mind, qualities, activities, and so on. Furthermore, predictions were also received from the treasure prophecies of several undisputed treasure revealers, such as Rigdzin Gödem, Jatsön Nyingpo, Ngari Terton Dawa Gyaltsen, and Dechen Lingpa. In general, the famous incarnations of body in this Tibetan land are Zur Chung Sherab Drak, Dakgom Tsultrim Nyingpo, Guru Chöwang's heart-son Mani Rinchen, Mangpo Terton Jangchub Lingpa, Kunkhyen Sangye Phel, Daknyön Kunlek, and Drubwang Pema Norbu. Here, only a brief mention is made; further details can be found in the secret biographies, reincarnation prayers, and so on. The birthplace of such a noble one is in the great Tibetan kingdom, in the region of Do-smad Dri-gyü Rekhe, at the foot of Tsanri Mountain, south of Kathok Dorje Dhen, in the hermitage of Dungkar Ritro, born as the son of father Amgön and mother Dorje Tso, from the lineage of the divine race of Ngü. Immediately after birth, he was protected by the mantra protector Ekajati, and from his childhood, he repeatedly saw the face of Guru Rinpoche directly. He was recognized as the incarnation of the treasure revealer and accomplished master Pema Norbu. The emanation of Vairotsana, the treasure revealer Pema Dechen Lingpa, conferred empowerment and gave the name Tsewang Norbu. He heard the ripening and liberating instructions of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, and at the age of thirteen, he directly saw the face of primordial awareness. From the sixth Chetsang Karma Sungrap Gyatso, the emanation of the accomplished Shavaripa, he heard many profound teachings of the new and old traditions, such as the Karma Kagyu Mahamudra. These two lamas were made the root lamas. Furthermore, he relied on many qualified spiritual friends and engaged in extensive study and contemplation, and with the blossoming of his wisdom, he understood the general and specific meanings of the common sciences and the sutras and tantras.
