Although stained by defilements, it does not exceed the merit of contaminated virtue. When the Teacher was about to pass into Nirvana, he held Ananda's hand and said, "Protect my Dharma treasury with desire, diligence, and mindfulness!" Seeming to hold the three sentences of this testament in mind, I prepared myself to endure hardship from the very beginning of collecting the original manuscripts. When I first started the work, I troubled Khenpo Rinpoche Jamyang Gyaltsen and my Dharma brother Karma Delek, etc. Each of them reprinted the collected Kama manuscripts more than a hundred times. The wise Sonam Dargye and Chaga Konchok Tenzin contacted the Ethnic Affairs Committee and expressed their hope of receiving funds, and later they received some assistance, for which they should be thanked. However, later Khenpo Rinpoche passed away, my Dharma brother was busy with other affairs, and the wise man also passed away. Due to the influence of adverse conditions and obstacles, the task of collecting, organizing, and inputting the early Nyingma Kama into the computer fell on my shoulders alone. When a person like me, with little ability and poor qualifications, is burdened with such a heavy load, the rope of my heart's vow almost breaks. At that time, I wrote some sad words: Bodhi༷citta༷, well grasped as the foun༷dation, The pro༷found path of Bodhi༷sattva conduct is the only way. To strive for the fruit༷ion of supreme Bodhi༷, I begin to create volumes of the Bodhi༷ ocean. I also made a vow: Those with virtue rarely have wisdom, those with wisdom rarely have virtue, the generous are poor in wealth, and the wealthy have no generosity. Whether due to external factors or my own reasons: When hea༷ring and thin༷king, I cannot strive to rea༷d. When enga༷ged in medita༷tion, I cannot remai༷n in seclusion. When accom༷plishing a tas༷k, obstacles from karma increa༷se. Alas, do you not look upon me with compassion? And so on, with intense sorrow, I repeatedly prayed to the Lama and the tutelary deity. After some time, the infallible refuge, the Three Jewels.

Through the truth of the Three Jewels, the blessings of the supreme deity, the venerable Manjushri, and the compassion of the revered and kind Lama, auspicious signs appeared in my dreams or experiences, leading me to believe that it was due to these reasons that I was able to set the wheel of this endeavor in motion once again, and I am determined to continue striving forward. Collecting the Original Texts. During the nine years or so spent traveling abroad to collect original texts and handwritten copies, resources such as wealth, money, and manpower were extremely scarce, and I did not own any means of transportation. I had to travel by hitching rides on other people's heavy trucks or tractors, or by riding a bicycle. Moreover, I even had to walk along narrow paths, traversing the valleys of the Tibetan plateau on foot, carrying heavy loads on my back, holding a staff in my hand, chewing tsampa (roasted barley flour) and drinking cold water where hot water was unavailable, and often having to find shelter under old trees or in the corners of rocky cliffs, enduring hardships. In order to find incomplete documents, I scoured the valleys, villages, and monasteries of Tibet, collecting a great number of rare and ancient books. Furthermore, I searched for texts scattered in foreign countries such as India, China, Nepal, the United States, and England, and managed to obtain some. After carefully organizing the texts that had been acquired, I invited Lama Chö Namgyal from Smugsang Monastery and several calligraphers from Dege to create about fifty volumes in the Uchen script. Editing. Most of the newly found original texts were ancient books, and the scripts appeared in two forms: Uchen and Ume. In order to standardize the inconsistent Ume scripts, such as cursive or running styles, I used a fine tool called "Tibetan Sambhota" to input the content into a computer. At that time in Tibet, we seemed to be among the first to use personal computers to compile large-scale non-commercial manuscripts. Most of the ancient handwritten manuscripts and some old printed editions had many abbreviations, such as དཀཽགསུཾ་ (Tibetan, དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ, Sanskrit Devanagari, त्रिरत्न, Sanskrit Romanization, triratna, Literal Chinese meaning, Three Jewels), སདྱས་ (Tibetan, སངས་རྒྱས, Sanskrit Devanagari, बुद्ध, Sanskrit Romanization, buddha, Literal Chinese meaning, Buddha), བྱུཾབ་ (Tibetan, བྱང་ཆུབ, Sanskrit Devanagari, बोधि, Sanskrit Romanization, bodhi, Literal Chinese meaning, Bodhi), ཡཻས་ (Tibetan, ཡེ་ཤེས, Sanskrit Devanagari, ज्ञान, Sanskrit Romanization, jnana, Literal Chinese meaning, Wisdom), ཤྲེབ་ (Tibetan, ཤེས, Sanskrit Devanagari, ज्ञा, Sanskrit Romanization, jna, Literal Chinese meaning, Knowing), etc., which respectively stand for the Three Jewels, Buddha, Bodhi, Wisdom, and Knowing.

Regarding the scattered "ra" etc., and the definite misspellings such as "བསྐུར་འདེབས་ (skur 'debs, sending), གཞུགས་གསོལ་ (gzhugs gsol, please sit), བཟུང་འཛིན་ (bzung 'dzin, grasping), རིགས་འཇིན་ (rigs 'jin, holder of lineage)", they have been corrected to "སྐུར་འདེབས་ (skur 'debs, sending), བཞུགས་གསོལ་ (bzhugs gsol, please sit), གཟུང་འཛིན་ (gzung 'dzin, grasping), རིག་འཛིན་ (rig 'dzin, vidyadhara)" respectively. Furthermore, regarding the archaic terms "མྱི་རྟོག་ (myi rtog, non-conceptualization)" and "མྱེ་ལོང་ (mye long, mirror)", and words with "ya" subscript such as "མྱེད་ (myed, without), མྱྀ་ (myi, person), དམྱིགས་ (dmyigs, object)", and words with interchangeable roots such as "གཞའ་ཚོན་ (gzha' tshon)" or "འཇའ་ཚོན་ ('ja' tshon, rainbow)", "གློ་བུར་ (glo bur)" or "བློ་བུར་ (blo bur, suddenly)", and words with or without "ཙ་ (tsa)" prefix such as "རྩེ་ནེ་ (rtse ne)" or "ཙེ་ནེ་ (tse ne)", "བྱ་བརྩལ་ (bya brtsal)" or "བྱ་བཙལ་ (bya btsal, effort)", "གཙིགས་ཆེན་ (gtsigs chen)" or "བརྩིགས་ཆེན་ (brtsigs chen, important)", and words with post-suffix "འ་ ('a)" such as "ཐར་པའ་ (thar pa'a, of liberation), རྟོག་པའ་ (rtog pa'a, of conceptualization), བདེ་བའ་ (bde ba'a, of happiness)", and words with stacked "ས་ (sa)" and "ཙ་ (tsa)" such as "ལས་སྩོགས་པ་ (las stsogs pa)" like "ལསྩོགས་པ་ (las tsogs pa)", and words with stacked "ས་ (sa)" and "ཧ་ (ha)" such as "བཞུགས་སོ་ཧ་་ (bzhugs so ha'')" like "ས་ཧ་ (sa ha)", and archaic or corrupted pronunciations such as "གཉིས་མེད་ (gnyis med, non-duality)" written as "གཉིས་ཎ་ (gnyis Na)", "ལྟ་སྒོམ་ (lta sgom, view and meditation)" written as "ལྟ་བྷེཾ་ (lta bhem)", "གཏན་ཚིགས་ (gtan tshigs, logic)" written as "ཧེ་དུ་ (he du)", they have been preserved as they are without modification. For cases like "བསྒྲིབ་སྦྱང་ (bsgrib sbyang, purification of obscurations)" and "བསྒྲིབ་སྦྱངས་ (bsgrib sbyangs, purified obscurations)", "སྒྲིབ་སྦྱང་ (sgrib sbyang, purifying obscurations)", "སྒྲིབ་སྦྱོང་ (sgrib sbyong, is purifying obscurations)", or like "སྒྲུབ་པ་ (sgrub pa, practice)" and "བསྒྲུབ་པ་ (bsgrub pa, accomplishing)", where words are formed by verbs or causative verbs, they have not been uniformly adjusted solely according to modern grammatical rules. For some original texts with many omissions, missing parts have been supplemented from other versions, redundant parts have been removed, and definite misspellings have been corrected. For doubtful or unresolved meanings, the original text has been preserved without arbitrary modifications. For texts where only one original version was available and there were no comparison references, they have been left as they are, and it has been clearly noted in the footnotes that there are omissions in the original, so it is necessary to consult other standard versions for collation. After all the texts were entered into the computer, it was found that many errors had occurred, so five corrections were made in comparison with the original text, and the most erroneous parts were corrected about six times. The editing process took more than six years, and although many difficult tasks had to be accomplished, they were endured and diligent efforts were made. It took about two years to enter into the computer, and about eight years for editing and proofreading, a total of ten years, mainly spent in the office in Chengdu, China, where the summers are hot, the winters are gloomy with no sunlight, the humidity is high, the air is humid, and the air is polluted. Due to acclimatization, the body suffered from hot and cold illnesses, and economic conditions
