Those who are attached to sectarian views, have no faith in the Mahayana, have weak understanding, are prone to dullness and agitation, do not strive in learning, are very ignorant, have wrong views about the Mahayana, break their vows, these fourteen are the causes of turning away from the Mahayana. Because the root of the Bodhi seedling of the mind has rotted, and the rope is cut from the depths, it is certain that they will fall into the lower realms, going headfirst like an overturned pot. Even though they speak of the meaning of secrets, they do not understand the hidden secrets. To those who are cunning, self-righteous, and proclaim everywhere: etc. Although they only speak the meaning of mantras to others, because they do not have the confidence of the view of mantras, they pretend to be cunning, thinking they are very clever, arrogant, and explain mantras to others. To all these bad vessels, they also especially proclaim the secret Dharma that should be kept secret—the tantras. Even if they only hear the words of the four branches of the practice of the deity, they do not know how to practice them truthfully, do not put them into practice, and cannot keep what the guru has secretly entrusted. The secret essence of these people leaks from their bodies, and they wander in samsara, which is the characteristic of having holes in the soles of their feet. Even though they speak of the three precious treasures of view, vows, and conduct, they cannot escape the extreme of attachment. etc. Although they verbally promise to be the gate of secrets, and verbally say that view, vows, and conduct are like this, some people, because they have not deeply contemplated these three themselves, and because their knowledge has not transcended ordinary people, their minds are tormented by deception, jealousy, and stinginess, and they only verbally affirm and proclaim the great nature that is free from effort. To those who have the view and samadhi of the Mahayana, they slander and say: Your view is inferior. The root and branch vows of these people have been broken, so they have the opportunity to wander in samsara, going to places of suffering, which is the characteristic of a broken vessel. Spying on behavior, measuring others, quoting special words, flattering, being two-faced, distorting right and wrong. If someone speaks with a double tongue, slandering both the lama and friends, and does not understand the faults of doing so, they are possessed by the evil spirit of samaya. They do this in order to desire greatness in this single lifetime, stealing the wealth and possessions of their Dharma brothers and sisters, engaging in deceit, trickery, deception, and enticement, following after worldly knowledge for the sake of material things. They only know a few words of secret mantra, yet they boast of their knowledge and pretend to be teachers to others. These people harbor great poison within them and will be born in hell, which is the characteristic of a poisonous vessel. Like this, for a failed, evil vessel, the great secret is that very secret, because it is profound and difficult to fathom. Therefore, even if one teaches such a profound and unfathomable tantra to these failed, evil vessels who are impoverished in the four types of vessels and lack the fruit of meaning, they will fall into evil destinies and will not be liberated. Therefore, one should not speak secrets to them. Why is that? Because it is like throwing two calves tied together off a cliff, both will be burned and tormented throughout the eons, because one's cause is made by the other. 'The yogi is skilled, clear, and meaningful,' this refers to the fault of harboring envious evil thoughts towards the yogi, which is just the literal meaning. 'The yogi's conduct is proper and holy,' this refers to the fault of slandering and disturbing the mind of a yogi who practices properly, which should be explained according to the literal meaning. 'The yogi with little merit, whose root vows are broken and whose nature is flawed,' and so on, what are the characteristics of those yogis with heavy karma and little merit, and those whose root vows are broken? They are the illusion of evil thoughts, great anger and ferocity, and engaging in fierce actions that lead to both virtue and evil. 'Those who are ignorant in their behavior,' this is also the literal meaning, which refers to relying on a bad lama. 'Those who are the holiest of the holy,' and so on, which yogis abide in great love, discipline, and patience, possess the vows of this Great Vehicle, behave auspiciously, uphold the teachings of such a tantra in a straightforward manner, and the yogi who acts in this way is the sole cause of attaining great enlightenment. The cause of not attaining it is: 'For those who have no desire, behaving like monkeys with their vows, yet wanting to obtain the essence of enlightenment,' these people, no matter what

Not believing in the yoga of conduct, and guarding the root and branch vows haphazardly like a monkey, achieving enlightenment is impossible. Even the Lord of Secrets has never seen such a thing happen at any time in the future, because it has never happened in the past, so practice properly. O yogi who has become a son of the Victorious Ones! Etc., because of not understanding the learned and proper yogis, they slander them and fall into hell. The yogi who does not understand! Etc., those ignorant people do not respect or learn from the wise, but follow the gurus who are attached to wealth and possessions, and only look at what they can gain, which is wrong. For them, the enjoyment of sacred yoga cannot be accumulated, nor can the benefits of great enlightenment be known at any time. So what do they do? They are attached to wealth, and for the sake of the evil gains obtained by deception, they are willing to risk their lives to pursue even a small amount of food or wealth. They are in the realm of the great pretas, and are very pitiful. Therefore, in order not to let the mind stray from the meaning, possessing the nature of sacred yoga, like a lamp inside a vase! Etc., the intention and conduct of those great yogis who are without error is that, like a lamp in a vase, although the understanding of the correct meaning is clear, they hide the profound meaning like a cat taking something with its claws, and benefit others in a concealed way. Because the skillful method is not obvious, ordinary people do not see them as having merit and do not respect them. It is like a person wearing jewels on his body and a person with nothing living in the same place, from the outside, people will think they are the same, without any difference. Therefore, if the secret meaning is practiced in this way, enlightenment will be very quick. Because even if it is spoken, it cannot be achieved if the other person does not accept it. Whoever praises this, etc., the name is like sound. This is because it is said with a focus on the root vow. To illustrate this more closely: However one walks, etc., for example, if someone praises the qualities of a jewel, but when others ask if he himself has this jewel, he answers that he does not, and therefore cannot eliminate poverty.

It is like ability. Similarly, the yogis who do not strive, these words are just as they are. It is said that without vows, even speaking of merits will not be accomplished. Yogis and dharma holders, for those yogis who violate the sacred vows, imposing punishments and expelling them, and the merits of liberation, are all as the literal meaning. For example, in a certain place, some people, for example, to illustrate approximately, in the place where the king makes laws, if someone violates the king's law, then the king's ministers will not let him go arbitrarily, but will execute him according to the king's law. The ministers who enforce the king's law do so, just like the king's confidants, all the people see, and it becomes widely known throughout the country, so should the yogis also. If a poisonous tree grows in the garden, for example, if a poisonous tree grows in the garden, the owner, as soon as he recognizes it as poison, immediately uproots it. If it is not uprooted, the poison will spread, and the owner will die, so it must be uprooted. Similarly, those fallen poisonous people, those with ascetic conduct will use harsh means to send them to places that cannot be reached even by counting in years. Those who pretend to be compassionate, are greedy for material things, associate with fallen people, and become their refuge and friends, are the great demons of the secret mantra, and there is never a chance of liberation from the Vajra Hell. In reality, any yogi, for those profound vows, the yogi acts in a reasonable way, even if he unintentionally makes some mistakes, he will not fall, this is just like the literal meaning. Even so, all these, even if they unintentionally make mistakes, the karmic result is small. Do not even have any direct contact with those people, not even in dreams. Why does a small amount of milk, like rotting, make all the milk rot? These are all because of the faults of encountering and associating with the fallen, just like the literal meaning. Those who win on the battlefield of samsara, must avoid falling. If they do not avoid it, the Dharma protectors will impose severe punishments, and the result will be falling into the great hell, which is explained just like the literal meaning. So, what is the pure vessel of secret mantra like?
