Then, at dawn, the lord of the gods, Indra, together with the son of the gods, Immaculate Jewel Heart, and thousands of gods and goddesses, went to Tushita, to where the Bhagavan was. They bowed their heads at the feet of the Bhagavan, circumambulated him three times, and then sat before the Bhagavan. If the time of death comes, one will experience extremely unbearable great suffering, like the suffering of sentient beings in hell. First, in the great city of Varanasi, in the mud of the latrine pit of a bamboo craftsman, one will be born as a flesh-eating sow with a pig's head. In that latrine pit, one will eat excrement and urine. In that very latrine pit, hundreds of thousands of creatures will reside, and they will eat the flesh of that sow in the three times, leaving only the skeleton. Then, again by the power of karma, the body will be completely restored, and one will live for seven years. Then, the time of death will come. Then, in a monastery, one will be born in the birthplace of a turtle, where even the name of water is not heard, and there is no shade of trees; the body will be scorched by the sun, one will eat sand, and crows will peck at the body, and the body will become fragments. Then, again by the power of karma, the body will arise and be destroyed, and it will be like that for five years. Then, the time of death will come, and in that very Varanasi, one will be born as a great fish in the great river. Then, again by the power of karma, one will be thrown where there is no water, and that great body will be eaten by venomous snakes, crows, otters, dogs, leopards, bears, and wolves, and so on. Other various kinds of creatures will also eat it. Then, again by the power of karma, the body will arise and be eaten, and it will be like that for three years. Then, again, having died, one will be born into seven families and experience the suffering of Jambudvipa, being born into the family of a leper, a poor family, a foolish family, a butcher's family, a family of low caste, a Candala's family, and a blind person's family, experiencing suffering for sixty years. Having experienced those sufferings, then having died and transmigrated, in the sixteen great hells, one will experience suffering for eighty-four kalpas. The lord of the gods will experience such great suffering. Even if one obtains a human body in one out of a hundred instances, one will be poor, have incomplete limbs, have little wisdom, be illiterate, and not know the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.
