Cutting off the seeds of the darkness of arising, Uprooting the roots of the pain of suffering, The mother, Prajnaparamita, and so forth, The supreme Dharma of the three vehicles... Dharma prince, treasure of wisdom, For beings tormented by hundreds of faults, May this profound and vast path be made manifest, I prostrate to the venerable Manjushri... Through the power of skillful means and supreme compassion, For the sake of curing untimely death, expanding the kingdom, and so forth, Clearly showing the practice of offering, I prostrate to the noble Liberator. In Vaishali, subduing eighty kotis of demons, Especially entrusting the protection of the teachings, Each vowing with words of truth, The secret lord and his retinue... In Vaishali, hearing the name of the Medicine Buddha, Vowing to protect this sutra of seeing the truth, The twelve surrounded by seven million attendants, The yaksha generals... To all those worthy of reverence in the all-pervading realm, With a mind of particular devotion to the field of merit, Emanating bodies as numerous as the dust particles of beings, Always respectfully prostrating at the edge of the Buddha-field. May you be free from illness and have a long life, may your crown be secure, and may your politics be prosperous. May you possess all the perfections of this world and the world beyond. Ultimately, may you complete the two accumulations and attain the state of the Yungdrung body, the king of Dharma, the Buddha Bhagavan. May all the subjects under your rule have all inner and outer harms completely pacified, possess perfect happiness and attain the unsurpassed great enlightenment. In all lands, may there be no human or animal diseases, famines, wars, or inauspicious omens, may there be timely rain, and may crops and livestock increase and flourish. May all be filled with happiness and prosperity. May all sentient beings possess all happiness, be born in those realms, and see the faces of those Buddhas, the Bhagavatans. Having received teachings, may they complete the two accumulations and ultimately attain Buddhahood. In particular, may the sacred Dharma abide for a long time and flourish and spread in every way. Next is the request for forgiveness: Before the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha, the seven Buddhas and their retinue, and the teacher, the Bhagavan Glorious Shakyamuni Buddha and his retinue. I endure. Ignorant ones controlled by miserliness, Offerings are poor and poorly arranged, Protector, possessing great compassion, Please also forgive this. Due to careless actions being impure, Not according to the rituals from the sutras, Whatever inability or mistakes there may be, Please also forgive this. Or there may be additions and omissions, Or there may be deficiencies in the limbs of the ritual, Or whatever forgetfulness I may have, I pray that you will all forgive. Then, the request to depart: You have accomplished all the benefits of sentient beings, Grant the accomplishments that are in accordance. Even after departing to the Buddha-field, Please also come again with compassion. Protectors, those who possess great compassion, accomplish the benefit of us and all sentient beings. Please depart to your respective pure lands with your retinue through miraculous power. Just as Manjushri the Hero knows, So too is Samantabhadra. I also follow after all of them, And dedicate all these virtues. All the Buddhas who have passed away in the three times, That dedication which is most praised, All these roots of virtue of mine, I dedicate them entirely for the sake of practicing the Excellent Conduct. By this virtue, may I quickly, Attain the state of the King of Medicine, May all sentient beings without exception, Be established in that state. The only medicine for the suffering of beings, The source from which all happiness arises, May the teachings, along with gain and respect, Long endure and never decline. Wonderful! May all pure aspirations be accomplished through the blessings of the Buddhas with their sons, And the unfailing truth of dependent origination, And the power of my pure supreme intention. Words of Auspiciousness: For beings of the degenerate age, compassion like the light of the sun, The seven Bhagavan Sugatas who blaze forth exceedingly, Such as the fulfillment of all the wishes spoken in their prayers, May there be auspiciousness of the perfect Buddhas! Just hearing it can completely liberate from the suffering of samsara and nirvana, The profound and vast Essence Medicine Sutra in Eight Hundred Sections, May there be auspiciousness of the supreme holy Dharma! The divine Trisong Detsen, whose virtuous deeds are like the fruit of Jambudvipa From the ocean where the Sutra rituals merge into one taste Harvesting the golden ears of benefit and happiness Shantarakshita, whose kindness is unparalleled in the land of snows. Seeing this situation, in order to benefit all limitless beings like space, driven by a strong altruistic intention, there has been a desire to write from early on.
