Obtaining the eight states of unfavorable ripening, still one has not seen the face of one's own mind. The original mind is like a face, is it not obscured by the darkness of karma and afflictions? Knowing this, the root of the heart is still disturbed. The illusory body is impermanent, a corpse destined to die. The outer world is impermanent, the four seasons change. The inner essence is impermanent, the bodies of living beings. Disease, weapons, and war, untimely destruction. Lifespan is impermanent, declining at thirty. Gods, demons, and spirits stir like stars. Hailstorms, frost, human and livestock diseases rage. Monasteries and Sangha communities are destroyed. The Three Jewels and Lamas cry out in distress. There is no happiness for the people of Tibet. At such a time, Padmasambhava, the embodiment of all Buddhas, is swift in compassion. The embodiment of all Dharma is near in practice. The embodiment of all Yidams is accomplished without practice. The embodiment of all Dharma protectors is endowed with fierce power. This is also due to the power of past aspirations.
