The great translator considered the essence of both the father and mother tantras to be Chakrasamvara. He obtained the father tantra Guhyasamaja, the mother tantra Mahamaya, the heart essence Hevajra, and the even more essential Chakrasamvara. Thus he said. The Chakrasamvara tantra in which the deities are not separated, the root tantra chapter fifty-one, the explicit guru samaja arising, the sky-like dakini ocean assembly, and the corresponding Vajra Dakini, the early and late blood-drinking manifestations, Ra Li, Vajra, Ara Li, Ri Gi, Ara Li, etc. Regarding the solitary mother tantras, there is the four-faced Vajravarahi tantra, the eighth chapter of Manifest Enlightenment, and the early and late manifestations of Vajravarahi, and the Vajrayogini sadhana of the vidyadharas, that is, a small tantra of Maitri Khachodma, and the corresponding Yogini Conduct and the seventh chapter of the Four Union Yogini Tantra. What is well-known in Tibet now is just this much. Furthermore, there are the Chakrasamvara Abhidhanottara of one hundred thousand verses, the Namasamgiti equal to space of one hundred thousand verses, and the five oceans including the Namasamudra, etc. The extensive mother tantras have not come to China and Tibet from the hands of the dakinis. However, the instructions extracted separately, the Vajravarahi Six Doctrines and many kinds of Khachodma, and the Five Stages, Six Yogas, etc., were brought to China and Tibet by many accomplished masters such as Saraha, Nagarjuna, Luipa, Jalandharipa, Krishnacharya, Tilopa, Naropa, Shavaripa, etc., and became very popular. Through relying on those paths, the attainment of siddhis was like dust motes in sunbeams. Many Tibetan scholars, merely because they have not seen these fragments of tantras that exist in Tibet today, or merely because they do not conform to their own ideas, seem to deny that they are not taught in all the tantras. This is not the behavior of scholars. The Vajra Dakini says: Scriptures are easy to find, but their application is difficult to find. The Dakini Ocean says: The tenets and instructions are the place of practice, not the place of practice for scholars. Tenets should be understood from direct perception, and instructions should be understood from inference. Everything should be understood from the mouth of the guru. That is the place of practice for wise ones and Buddhas.
