A Concise Preliminary Practice from the Guru's Ornament of Intentions, a Guiding Text for the Great Perfection, the Profound and Vast Union of All Precious Ones, called "The Easy Path to Liberation." A Concise Preliminary Practice from the Guru's Ornament of Intentions, a Guiding Text for the Great Perfection, the Profound and Vast Union of All Precious Ones, called "The Easy Path to Liberation." A Concise Preliminary Practice from the Guru's Ornament of Intentions, a Guiding Text for the Great Perfection, the Profound and Vast Union of All Precious Ones, called "The Easy Path to Liberation," is presented herein. Homage to Guru Padmakara). Those who possess the karmic connection of virtue and the fortune of the profound path, if they wish to first engage in the preliminary stages, should understand that there are two aspects to this: the common preliminaries of the two stages and the special preliminaries of Dzogchen. The first also has two aspects: common and specific. The common one is to make a supplication at the beginning of all practices to pacify obstacles and receive blessings. In a secluded place, straighten your posture on a comfortable seat. When controlling the breath, visualize that the sins and obscurations of body, speech, and mind are purified with the three expulsions. In the space in front, on a lotus, sun, and moon, Padmasambhava (莲花生大士) and, the guru inseparable from the vidyadharas, a rainbow heart. Wearing a pandit's hat and three robes, with both hands in, the vajra kila mudra at the chest, the white A at the nostrils is clear. Wrathful deities, male and female, rejoice on the rainbow wings. Seated in vajra posture, the three places are marked with three syllables. Rays of wisdom light shine forth, blessings descend. I supplicate the guru. I supplicate the guru dharmakaya. I supplicate the guru... I supplicate the guru sambhogakaya. I supplicate the guru... I supplicate the guru nirmanakaya. Refuge supreme, the union of all, I supplicate the precious guru. Please grant me all common and supreme siddhis without exception. After reciting this as many times as possible, Hrih Recite once or three times, etc., this supplication spoken by the vidyadhara himself, such as "Unfabricated, spontaneously accomplished, primordially pure, self-born," because its necessity and benefit are extremely great. Then, focus the mind on the three syllables at the three places of the body. Recite Om (藏文,梵文天城体:ॐ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:Om) Ah (藏文,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:Ah) Hum (藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum). After reciting, rest in non-conceptuality. Specifically, the common preliminaries of the two stages have three parts: common preliminaries, uncommon preliminaries, and special preliminaries. The first is to turn the mind toward Dharma by contemplating the difficulty of finding leisure and endowment, that is, this leisure and endowment.

This is extremely difficult to find. If a person has attained accomplishment, if one does not perform benefit in this, how can one obtain the right and wonderful result in the future? Thinking about the impermanence of death: The three realms of existence are impermanent like autumn clouds, the birth and death of beings are like watching a dance, the life of beings passes like lightning in the sky, flowing swiftly like a rushing stream. Thinking about the law of karma: When the time comes, even the king will depart, enjoyments, friends, and relatives will not follow. Wherever beings are, wherever they go, karma follows like a shadow. Thinking about the faults of samsara: Beings, due to ignorance, in the three realms of humans, gods, and evil destinies, unknowingly revolve in the five paths, like the potter's wheel turning. In the three realms of existence, the suffering of old age and sickness burns, here the fire of death blazes fiercely, without protection, beings are constantly deluded by existence, revolving like a bee trapped in a jar. Thus, the immaculate teachings of the perfect Buddha should be diligently recited and practiced. Second, there are four uncommon preliminaries. First, the foundation of all vehicles, great and small, is taking refuge: In the sky of the pure realm, supported by rainbow clouds, are three layers of stacked precious lotuses. In the center of the stamen resides the embodiment of all Buddhas, the smiling Guru Padmasambhava. Around him, on the first layer of lotus ground, are the root, branch, and lineage gurus. On the second layer are the deities of the four and six tantras. On the third layer are the assemblies of dakinis, wisdom beings, and dharma protectors. Behind them on the four sides, lotus trees grow luxuriantly, in front are Shakyamuni Buddha and the Buddhas of the ten directions, on the right are Avalokiteshvara and the bodhisattva assembly, behind are the scriptures of the Tripitaka, on the left are Shariputra and the shravakas and pratyekabuddhas. In the clouds, gods and goddesses offer offerings. In front of them, I and all sentient beings equal to space, from this time until the essence of enlightenment, take refuge with great respect in body, speech, and mind. Thus pray, reciting Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ (藏文:ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ༔,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ āḥ hūṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡啊吽) Refuge, the sacred ones, I take refuge (藏文:སྐྱབས་གནས་དམ་པ་རྣམས་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆི༔), count and recite like this, and finally recite: The guru is the Buddha, the guru is the Dharma, likewise the guru is the Sangha, the guru is great auspiciousness.
