, is considered the collection of wisdom. So-called meditation is the calm abiding meditation in which one dwells single-pointedly in non-discrimination. The non-discriminating, non-erroneous, and luminous nature of mind is the reality of all phenomena. All of samsara and nirvana, in unborn, unceasing, and free from elaboration, the definitive understanding of realization arises from the depths of the heart, which is said to be insight and wisdom. When these two, calm abiding and insight, are placed equally, they are called union because they are of one essence. Until the coemergent wisdom is mixed, the subsequent discriminating wisdom is the main one. In the sutras, insight is indicated as wisdom, and calm abiding is indicated as feet. If the eyes do not have wisdom, the feet cannot know the path to walk, nor can they see. If there are no feet, how can one get there? Therefore, it is said to have wisdom and feet. By meditating in this way, the dharmadhatu is like space, and the naturally abiding stains do not exist. However, sudden afflictions and stains of knowledge are like clouds, gradually clearing away, one can attain the ten bhumis and five paths. Shantipa believes that there are distinctions such as oneness, freedom from elaboration, one taste, and no meditation. When the distinctions are established, and all the stains and habitual tendencies are completely exhausted, it is the complete Buddha. When the all-pervading dharmakaya manifests, the two fruits of the form body of merit, like the sun and its rays, arise effortlessly. This is the lineage of the fruit, the Buddha of the fruit, and the tathagatagarbha with two purities, which is well known in the teachings of the Buddhas. Second, there are two ways to settle in actual practice. The way to settle the body includes the seven aspects of Vairochana. The way to settle the mind is not to welcome or follow after the conceptual thoughts of the past and future. Directly recognize the present awareness, without modification, and relaxedly settle on it. If realization arises, recognize the one who arises, and do not do any negation, affirmation, abandonment, or acceptance, and relax in that state. If you cannot achieve single-pointedness, focus your mind on any object you like, such as a piece of wood, a pebble, a statue of a deity, or a letter. Gradually get used to it, and when the mind is slightly stable, shorten the sessions and increase the number of sessions. At the beginning of each session, first gather all six consciousnesses completely into single-pointed mindfulness. Immediately after that, relax like untying a Sogbon knot.

Just relax a little, not too scattered. As for the object of meditation, the meditator, whether they exist or not, whether they are true or false, and bliss, clarity, non-thought, emptiness, etc., all thoughts of "I will meditate on this" should be abandoned. In the end, just like a crow flying to the mast, as long as you don't lose your own awareness, let the awareness transform freely without clinging to it. Relying on this, the appearances of the six senses, illnesses, afflictions, and conceptual thoughts are all taken as objects and mixed together for meditation. These will prevent distraction and increase concentration. In short, when practicing calm-abiding and contemplation meditation, being too relaxed will lead to dullness, and being too tense will lead to excitement, and the mind will not be able to abide. Being too tense will cause problems and merits, leading to inner suffering, being controlled by doubt, and failing to achieve single-pointedness. Therefore, meditate with joy and certainty, with moderate relaxation and tension. Whatever experiences of bliss, clarity, and emptiness arise, if you cling to them, you will be lost in samsara, so don't cling, and without affirming or negating, maintain the original state in awareness. Then, the method of introducing insight is: Maitreya, the Protector, said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Through wisdom, recognize that there is nothing other than the mind, and then recognize that the mind is also emptiness. Those with wisdom recognize that both do not exist, and those without these (wisdom) know that the realm of reality exists." As it is said, through the three valid cognitions of scripture, reasoning, and experience, determine that, first of all, all the fluctuations and appearances of conceptual thoughts are not things other than the mind. For example, understand it like understanding a dream. If you think that from the unobstructed mind, hard, liquid, warm, and other obstructed substances can arise, then what about the story of the cowherd imagining horns growing on his head, or the mantra practitioner making a snake without venom through mantras? By firmly practicing the generation stage, seeing the deity, etc., it can be achieved even in this lifetime. From beginningless time, due to the habituation of bad habits, what is impossible to achieve in this way? In a full cup of water, gods see nectar, hungry ghosts see pus and blood, mountain gods see palaces, and humans see ordinary mud and stones, etc. These are all appearances of the mind, without any true signs. Therefore, after determining that the appearance of the external world is the mind, you must also recognize that the mind is also emptiness, because there is not a single real thing in the mind. Why? Because when the conditions of the external world appear
