What need is there to mention the birth of the manifested aggregates? If there is no aging of various changes, what need is there to mention the aging of the complete maturation of actions? If there is no disease of subtle habitual imprints, what need is there to mention the disease of afflictions? If there is no death that transforms the inconceivable, what need is there to mention the death that exhausts life? As stated in the Uttaratantra: 'That is the nature of mind, Because the body is unborn and eternal. By the death that transforms the inconceivable, That is immortal and steadfast. By the diseases of subtle habitual imprints, It is harmless and peaceful. By the stainless manifest actions, It is eternal, therefore there is no aging.' Thus it is said. Fourth, the meaning of non-retrogression, from 'return' to 'because of manifestation.' Thus it is said. The Buddha who previously had defilements, even if the defilements of the path are removed in between, will he retrogress back to samsara? It is not so, the Buddha who has manifested the reality through realization does not retrogress and will not become afflicted again, because with the wisdom of individual self-awareness, the reality of the mind that has been abiding from the beginning is manifestly revealed as it is. As glorious Dharmakirti said: 'Harmlessness and the true meaning, From the nature of reversal, Even if one tries, it does not regress, Because the mind clings to that side.' Thus it is said. Fifth, the meaning of the permanent non-arising of defilements, from 'defilements' to 'because of separation.' Thus it is said. Even if the path has reached its end, will the defilements of inverted thoughts still arise? After manifestation, defilements never arise again, because defilements are the conceptual delusions that grasp the grasper and the grasped as different entities, and their cause is ignorance, because it is separated from that. As Dharmakirti said: 'Because the seed of view has been abandoned, Therefore it is indeed non-retrogressive.' Thus it is said. Sixth, summarizing the meaning, from 'therefore' to 'does not know.' Thus it is said. Because of these reasons, the mind, luminous by nature, the Buddha with sixty-four qualities, even now, when it is the basis of sentient beings, is fully present, but is obscured by the defilements of the grasper and the grasped and is not known. This is like a poor person who does not know that there is a treasure in his house, and therefore suffers from poverty. Maitreya Gon

The venerable one said: Like a poor man's house, underground, There is an inexhaustible treasure, But that person does not know it, and the treasure also does not say, "I am here" does not say so. Likewise, the precious treasure contained in the mind, The stainless original purity and the inseparable Dharma-nature, Because of not realizing it, the suffering of poverty, Beings constantly experience all kinds of suffering. Thus it is said. Fifth, to generate certainty in explaining the nature with scriptures, there are four: The scripture of the Ornament of the Sutras, the scripture of the Twenty Verses on the Great Vehicle by the noble Nagarjuna, the scripture of the Uttaratantra, and the summary of the meaning spoken in the Sutras and Tantras. First: From "when" to "not say". Thus it is said, when, in general, the wisdom arising from hearing, thinking, and meditating, and especially the connection of the blessings of the guru and the devotion of the disciple, when the nature of mind, the reality of the Tathagatagarbha, is directly realized. For example, when red-hot iron cools down, there is no burning pain, and when the eyes are afflicted with cataracts, there is no cataract when the cataract is removed. The substance of heat and cataracts does not exist, but when the two are removed, the nature of iron and eyes are clear, so it is not non-existent either. Likewise, when ignorance dissipates and wisdom increases, the mind, the eight consciousnesses, dissipate, and the five wisdoms increase. The defilements of mundane delusion, like heat and cataracts, are not said to exist, and like clear iron and eyes, they are not said to be non-existent. Second, the scripture of the Twenty Verses on the Great Vehicle: From "noble" to "field of activity". Thus it is said, the noble, that is, in terms of the definitive meaning, since all dharmas are originally unborn, in terms of the ultimate truth, there is no liberation from samsara either. Just as space is unborn, unceasing, and unchanging, so the Buddha is unchanging in all circumstances. Therefore, the nature of both sentient beings and Buddhas is the same, and the essence is indistinguishable, only the difference between realization and non-realization. Since both this shore of samsara and the other shore of nirvana are unborn, the nature is also without cessation. Therefore, all conditioned dharmas are manifestly empty and selfless. Therefore, this inconceivable state is that of the omniscient Buddha.
