It is like throwing a piece of wood with a hole into the vast ocean. A turtle lives in that ocean, and it only pokes its head out once every hundred years. Can it get its neck into the hole of the wood? Or like finding an udumbara flower, it is rare unless all possibilities are exhausted. It is difficult to understand even through analogies. The beings in the three lower realms are like the dust of the earth, and the opportunity to obtain a human body is like the dust on a fingernail. The opportunity to obtain a human body with leisure and endowments is as insignificant as a speck of dust. However, most people engage in non-virtuous deeds, and very few engage in virtuous deeds, so there are many instances of falling into the lower realms. In general, among all the higher realms, obtaining a human body in which one can practice virtue is very rare and few in number, so it is difficult to obtain in terms of numbers. This body that we have now obtained is both difficult to obtain and easy to lose. If this human body is wasted this time, and we are born in the lower realms in the next life, it is like falling into an inescapable abyss. Therefore, we must not be lazy for even a moment, but focus on virtuous deeds with strong diligence, make a firm determination to grasp the essentials of practice, and do our best to turn our minds to the Dharma. This is the first session. Second, meditating on impermanence: If you do not meditate on impermanence, you will not become disillusioned with this life. If you do not become disillusioned with this life, you will not be able to abandon the eight worldly concerns, and therefore you will not be liberated from samsara, and you will not generate special realization. Therefore, to counteract this, we must meditate on impermanence: first, the way the external world is formed, the way it stays in the middle, and the way it is ultimately destroyed without leaving even a remnant. The order of time, such as morning, noon, and evening, is constantly changing every moment. The climate also changes, such as winter, spring, summer, and autumn, and nothing is permanent. Therefore, all conditioned phenomena cannot escape the nature of destruction and change. The internal sentient beings are also the same, from birth, childhood, adulthood to old age, they cannot escape death in the end. Moreover, it is impossible to determine when death will come, and there is no absolute certainty that we will not die today or tomorrow. Even if we are alive now, there are many cases where we suddenly die due to unpredictable factors such as planets, poisons, weapons, fire, water, cliffs, etc., and become corpses. Even if we live a long life, we cannot live longer than a hundred years. Moreover, we have already spent one-third of our lives and are heading towards death. Our former lamas, teachers, and friends

Relatives, friends, neighbors, and so on, die suddenly in this way, or are tormented by illness for a long time. While experiencing unimaginable pain from illness, although terrified and afraid, there is nothing to be done, and they die in this way. After death, there is no chance to meet again. Gone without a trace, like a stone thrown into water, impossible to part with, yet without a trace. The corpse is taken to the cemetery and buried forever. No one knows where the mind has gone, or where it will be reborn. One cannot avoid the same fate, so one thinks, what if I die now? Therefore, all the efforts made in this life are considered futile. Like livestock being led to the slaughterhouse. Now still planning to stay for a long time, if indulging in the eight worldly concerns, non-virtue, and neutral states, there is no greater suffering than this, so let go of all pursuits in this life. Hoping to do something meaningful in the next life, in a trembling state, not letting the mind wander, abandoning attachment to this life, striving to practice, making a firm resolution, and doing one's best, without being discouraged. Therefore, it is important to cultivate the impermanence of death first. Think about those who have died before. One cannot avoid the same fate, at the time of death, all wealth, fame, etc., cannot be taken away, but remain behind, without any benefit. At that time, the only benefit is the Dharma, so first one should become the cause for entering the Dharma. It is also important in the middle, because one does not know when one will die, there is no time to be lazy, so one should whip oneself to practice. It is also important in the end, because death is the clear light Dharmakaya, or realizing the nature of death, which is the ultimate truth free from all elaboration. Therefore, one should diligently practice these. Two sessions. Third, thinking about the results of actions: So, after death, is it like being thrown away, disappearing like a candle being extinguished? If being born here is a free combination, that would be fine. But that is not the case, one must follow the karma one has created and take rebirth. If one mainly creates karma driven by hatred, commits evil deeds towards relatives and friends, commits serious non-virtuous actions, and in large numbers, one will fall into hell. If one mainly creates karma driven by desire,
