A Short Introduction to the Three Kayas A Short Introduction to the Three Kayas. The Prayer for the Introduction to the Three Kayas. Written by Je Rangjung Dorje. The ultimate meaning, free from elaboration, non-dual, great bliss state, The clear and empty, ungrasping, illusory body. Like the sun and moon, dispelling the darkness of ignorance, I prostrate to Vajradhara who realizes the Great Seal. Like the sun and moon, free from eclipses, purified by clouds, With the skillful means of the Sambhogakaya, guiding beings into the Dharmadhatu. Those who have perfected the non-duality of skillful means and wisdom, I respectfully prostrate to all the Kagyu Lamas. Abiding well in the midst of the glorious snow mountains, Maturing beings with the meaning of the Three Kayas, Well established in the meaning of the four key points of the Nirmanakaya, I prostrate to the Omniscient One of the three times and the protector of beings. So here, the key points of body, speech, and mind of all the Kagyu Lamas, the wheel of Dharmata, and so on, all the complete instructions for the introduction to the Three Kayas, for those of inferior intellect, the preliminary four dharmas; for those of middling capacity, the four key points of the wheel of Dharmata; for those of superior capacity, the introduction to the Three Kayas, the Great Seal, all at once, there are three kinds of instructions. This instruction for the introduction to the Three Kayas is the root of all dharmas, the essence of all instructions, the supreme dharma for those of the highest capacity, all at once. Those who wish to practice this should be shown to those who have faith, samaya, diligence, and who seek the next life. I prostrate to all the Kagyu Lamas. Now, I will show the branches of the preliminary practice, which is the Guru Yoga. As it says in the Atiyoga Tantra: The kind Lama, In the heart or on the crown of the head, Or on the palms of the limbs, whatever is meditated upon, That person will also hold the qualities of a thousand Buddhas. Therefore, it is very important to practice Guru Yoga as a preliminary. At the time of practice, without letting the mind wander elsewhere, in a state of single-pointed concentration, generate the supreme Bodhicitta, wishing that all sentient beings have happiness and be free from suffering, and quickly attain the unsurpassed precious Bodhi. For this reason.
