place. May the auspiciousness of the immeasurable life-endowed realm, residing on the lotus of wisdom, and blessed with countless lifetimes, bring peace to all beings. May the auspiciousness of the supreme, meaningful, and accomplished mind, which engages in the work of benefiting sentient beings and liberates all beings from the bonds of bondage, bring peace to all beings. The verses of auspiciousness of the five Tathagatas are complete. Thus, this immediate and necessary practice of Dharma, to be recited in the Sangha community arising from the words of the Lord of the World, the glorious Karmapa, is from the presence of the supreme protectors, the lords of the wheel, the holders of the blue scepter crest, the former lamas. Although there seem to be many differences in this clear practice of Dharma of ours from what was previously printed, mainly based on the edition of Drukpo Shedrub Ling, the corrections of words and meanings, the arrangement of order, and the appropriateness of additions and subtractions have been newly made. As instructed on the need to take responsibility for printing, Situ Tenpai Nyinjed has well arranged the rituals for the four great festivals, gatherings, and aspirations, which are clear and distinct, and the sections are not confused. The slightly inaccurate pronunciations of the mantras have been corrected to match Sanskrit. In the Tibetan language, the few instances of previous omissions have been well determined due to the needs of rhythm and meaning. If all the Dharma practices accepted by the various monasteries and monastic colleges were collected, it would become very lengthy, so efforts have been made to include the important and widely known recitation practices. The intentions of the incomparable and supreme refuge, the two holy ones, have been fulfilled in the Dharmadhatu, and in order to pray for the swift manifestation of the supreme incarnation as a guide for myself and other disciples, the lowest of the servants of those lords, Situpa Tenpai Nyinjed, has manifested joyfully and completed the printing in the Wood Tiger year (1914) called Kunga at Palpung Thubten Chokhor Ling in the Dege region of Domed (མདོ་སྨད, Amdo area). This is again by the Fourteenth Karmapa for the nourishment of the teachings and beings.

With prayers and supplements, it was printed on the seat of Orgyen Tsurpu. This is the teaching of the Great Ascetic). The all-pervading, vast, primordial abode, Orgyen Lord, opening the door to good aspirations in the past kalpa, in order to place beings in the boundless, primordial liberation, bestowing the glory of wisdom that cuts through all conceptual thoughts. May hearing, experiencing, and reading, in this assembly of illusory stars with six liberations, the path of maturation and liberation embraced by the Drukpa Kagyu, ultimately attain Nirvana in the sound of the lion's roar, and after the great meaning of non-returning is accomplished, be greeted by the pure light like that of Mount Kailash, raising the constant armor of aspiration, cutting through the demon enemies who grasp at permanence in samsara, may all the Samantabhadra grounds quickly go forth, breathing with words of blissful aspiration, and likewise, may all the lower realms be emptied. Thus it is said. This was done on the auspicious day of the Buddha's Descent from Heaven, when the inherent flaws of the degeneration of the five degenerations are revealed, by the sixteenth Shakya monk, who bears the heavy burden of benefiting the general and specific teachings, a part of the name Karma, the source of the Drukpa Kagyu teachings, the prayer of the venerable lamas, "Great Illumination of Dharma Practice," as part of the new collection of writings of Garchen, along with the carving of the prayer verses. May virtue and excellence increase on this auspicious day of the Buddha's Descent from Heaven. Sarva Mangalam (Tibetan, Devanagari: सर्व मङ्गलम्, Romanized Sanskrit: sarva maṅgalam, Literal Chinese meaning: All auspiciousness). Good! Constantly reveling in the wheel of great bliss, the great treasure of the Buddhas of the three times, Karmapa, may your lineage of fathers and sons remain steadfast in this ocean of existence for kalpas upon kalpas.
