Among them, regarding the guidance of the four stages of the path and the three practices, it is said that this (teaching) is no different from the four stages of the path written by Danma Tsering Gyaltsen, the direct disciple of Puran Lochung, therefore, (this teaching) will become a cause for generating faith in the Naro's oral instructions. Thus it is said. When practicing these meanings, in the four stages, the first, the stage of knowing the knowable is: generally, at the time of death of ordinary people, the way the gross body dissolves through the four elements in sequence, and the way the mind dissolves through the three stages of appearance, increase, and attainment, then, the way the bardo is formed from the three appearances of forward and reverse, and the way that (bardo) takes birth into the womb, the way the body is formed from the parents' sperm and blood, and from that (body) how the channels and elements are initially formed, how they grow in the middle, and how they ultimately abide, etc., should be widely known. Here, the practice that is appropriate for the occasion is: as before, after fully meditating on the complete realization between pure mindfulness, light radiates from the (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Meaning: Hum) in one's heart, and all outer and inner things are gathered into the protective wheel, that (wheel) into the eight great charnel grounds, that (charnel ground) into the palace, that (palace) into the retinue deities, the retinue deities are gathered clockwise from the left nostril, counterclockwise from the right nostril into the (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Meaning: Hum) in the heart. The consort also in the form of light dissolves from the left nostril into the (Tibetan: ཨཾ, Devanagari: अं, Romanized Sanskrit: aṃ, Literal Meaning: Ang) in the navel, with the light of (Tibetan: ཨཾ, Devanagari: अं, Romanized Sanskrit: aṃ, Literal Meaning: Ang), like lighting a lamp in a dark place, clearly visualize the navel wheel of emanation. On the inner circle of eight petals are the eight letters A, Ka, Tsa, Tsa, Da, Pa, Ya, Sha. Each of those (petals) then gives rise to seven small petals, so on the outer circle of fifty-six petals, from the front clockwise are sixteen vowels, counterclockwise are thirty-four consonants. Romanized Sanskrit: ā ī ū ai au aṃ, Literal Meaning: A, I, U, Ai, Au, Ang) etc., the six long vowels. All (letters) are red in color, with their heads pointing upwards. Again, with the light of that (navel wheel), clearly visualize the Dharma wheel in the heart. Regarding this, the text and catalog of the four stages of the path say that in the center is (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Meaning: Hum), in the four directions are (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཏྲཱཾ་ཧྲཱིཿཨཱཿ, Devanagari: ओँ त्रాం ह्रीः आः, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ trāṃ hrīḥ āḥ, Literal Meaning: Om, Tram, Hrih, Ah), in the four corners are the four letters (Tibetan: ལྃ་མཱྃ་པཱྃ་ཏཱྃ, Devanagari: लँ माँ पाँ ताँ, Romanized Sanskrit: laṃ māṃ pāṃ tāṃ, Literal Meaning: Lang, Mang, Pang, Tang). But here it says, like a spring drop, in the center is (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Meaning: Hum), in the four directions are the four short vowels A, I, E, O, in the four corners are the four letters Ya, Ra, La, Wa, blue in color, with their heads pointing downwards. Again, with the light of that (heart wheel), clearly visualize the enjoyment wheel in the throat. The text and catalog say that the four short vowels are placed in the four directions.

Even so, here, like a spring thread, in the center, establish Oṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:ओँ,梵文羅馬擬音:oṃ,漢語字面意思:). In the four directions, the inner circle has Ā, Ī, Ū, Ai (藏文,梵文天城体:आ ई ऊ ऐ,梵文羅馬擬音:ā ī ū ai,漢語字面意思:), the four long vowels. Each of these has three small petals branching out, with twelve outer petals, establishing twelve vowels, red in color, with mouths pointing upwards. These two wheels, like a spring thread, are counterclockwise. Furthermore, with its light, illuminate the wheel of great bliss at the crown of the head, with Haṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:हं,梵文羅馬擬音:haṃ,漢語字面意思:) in the center. On the thirty-two petals, the sixteen vowels rotate clockwise and counterclockwise, white in color, with heads pointing downwards. In the center of these, also illuminate the three channels, with Avadhūtī in the center. On the right, the red fire channel with its mouth pointing upwards, in which two Kāli channels alternate with each vowel. At the top, it has Oṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:ओँ,梵文羅馬擬音:oṃ,漢語字面意思:) and at the end, Hūṃ Phaṭ (藏文,梵文天城体:हुं फट्,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ phaṭ,漢語字面意思:), with mouths pointing upwards. On the left, the white sleeping channel with its mouth pointing downwards, in which the letters are the same as before, with mouths pointing downwards. The anus is wind, and the perineum is fire. Thus, the three channels and six wheels, together with the letters, should be illuminated and meditated upon for a long time. These are the stages of the Tantra. Tantra is the four wheels, etc., which are inherently present in the body. The stages are to gradually illuminate them. The measure of completion is that the three channels and six wheels appear clearly in the mind. Second, the preliminary practice for the stages of mantra practice is to follow the outgoing and incoming breath. When the breath goes out, illuminate the right fire channel together with the letters. When it comes in, illuminate the left sleeping channel together with the letters. When it stays for a while, focus on the burning Aṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:अं,梵文羅馬擬音:aṃ,漢語字面意思:) and meditate for a long time. Having become accustomed to this, in accordance with the incoming breath, dissolve the breath into the Aṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:अं,梵文羅馬擬音:aṃ,漢語字面意思:) at the navel and focus the awareness on the Aṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:अं,梵文羅馬擬音:aṃ,漢語字面意思:), suppressing the upper breath as much as possible. By meditating in this way, intensely and briefly, again and again, five signs such as smoke will arise in the navel area, and the fire of Aṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:अं,梵文羅馬擬音:aṃ,漢語字面意思:) will feel like it is burning from two fingers up to the throat. Then, the actual stage of mantra practice is to forcefully contract the lower breath, igniting the fire with Aṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:अं,梵文羅馬擬音:aṃ,漢語字面意思:). It goes up from the upper channel, burning the letters of the upper three wheels in sequence, opening the door at the space between the eyebrows, and coming out from the right nostril. In the space in front, visualize countless Tathāgatas, first visualizing one, and then gradually increasing.
