Opening the Door to Skyfaring. Opening the Door to Skyfaring. Herein resides what is called Opening the Door to Skyfaring. Namo Vajra Yogini! With compassion, her beautiful form is attached to beings. By those who meditate and recite the assembly of secret mantras, she leads practitioners to the abode of Skyfaring. I seek refuge in that Yidam Goddess. For the sake of devoted disciples, I will clearly write, according to the words of the holy ones, the methods of meditating on the eleven yogas, and the fire offerings and lamp offerings on the tenth day. This is the oral instruction not given to others by the venerable Naropa, transmitted from the Phamthing sisters, the meditation and recitation of the venerable Vajrayogini. The great Sakya master said that this is summarized by the eleven yogas: sleeping, rising, tasting nectar, immeasurable, generating the guru as oneself as the deity, the yoga of purifying beings, the blessing by heroes and heroines, speech recitation and mind recitation are one, the inconceivable yoga, and the yoga of conduct. Thus, there are eleven yogas. First, the yoga of sleeping: In the evening session, after meditating and reciting, at the end of the session, sleep in the state of meditating on the inconceivable yoga. If not meditating, then sleep in the state of meditating on emptiness for a moment. If there is great devotion to the generation stage, then on a precious throne, the venerable mother is not made of flesh and bones, but of the nature of light, and the guru is visualized as residing on her crown, and after prostrating to her, sleep. Some oral instructions say this, and it is also good. Second, the yoga of rising: In the sky, the sound of the ḍāmaru drum is heard as if the heart mantra is near, and urged by this, rise as the venerable mother without hand implements. Even if a beginner cannot remember this in sleep, immediately after waking up, have faith that it was urged by this and rise, so that this will be remembered upon waking up. Third, tasting nectar: If there is a nectar pill, then with the thought of offering the vaṃ (藏文:བྃ,梵文天城体:वँ,梵文罗马拟音:vam, seed syllable) syllable in the heart, recite the three syllables and taste it. If there is no nectar pill, then bless alcohol as nectar and drink three sips. Fourth, meditating on the immeasurable: First, take refuge and then vow

I vow to attain the state of enlightenment and to liberate all sentient beings from the ocean of suffering in samsara. For that purpose, I shall practice the profound path. Recite this three times and contemplate, then recite the complete four immeasurables. Fifth, Guru Yoga: In the space in front, on a jeweled throne supported by lions, on a seat of various lotuses and a moon cushion, the root guru is in the form of the venerable Vajra Dharma, with a red-colored body, one face, and two arms. The right arm plays the damaru, proclaiming the sound of bliss and emptiness. The left hand holds a skull cup filled with nectar at the heart. The khatvanga is held at the left elbow. The feet are in the vajra posture. The body is adorned with six bone ornaments, and is a youthful and vibrant form. Recite and contemplate this. The essence of all the Buddhas of the three times, the guru and Vajrayogini are inseparable. I prostrate and take refuge in you. I beseech you to bestow your blessings. Pray like this seven times. Visualize the guru dissolving into light and absorbing into your brow. Sixth, Self-Generation as the Deity: In my heart, from the syllable E arises the Dharma source, a double-layered triangle. Inside that, from the syllable A arises a moon mandala. In the center of the moon mandala, around the red syllable Bam (Tibetan: བྃ་,Sanskrit Devanagari: वँ,Sanskrit Romanization: vam, Literal Chinese meaning: stick) are the mantras rotating counterclockwise: Om Om Om Sarva Buddha Dakini Ye, Vajra Varnani Ye, Vajra Vairochani Ye Hum Hum Hum Phat Phat Phat Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨོཾ་ཨོཾ་སརྦ་བུདྡྷ་ཌཱ་ཀི་ནཱི་ཡེ། བཛྲ་ཝརྞ་ནཱི་ཡེ། བཛྲ་བཻ་རོ་ཙ་ནཱི་ཡེ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ་ཕཊ་ཕཊ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།,Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ ॐ ॐ सर्व बुद्ध डाकिनी ये,वज्र वर्णनी ये,वज्र वैरोचनी ये हूँ हूँ हूँ फट् फट् फट् स्वाहा,Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ oṃ oṃ sarva buddha ḍākinī ye,vajra varṇanī ye,vajra vairocanī ye hūṃ hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ phaṭ phaṭ svāhā,Literal Chinese meaning: Om Om Om All Buddha Dakini Ye, Vajra Color Ni Ye, Vajra Vairochana Ni Ye Hum Hum Hum Phat Phat Phat Svaha). From the mantra, light arises, filling the entire body inside and out. All the sins and obscurations of body, speech, and mind are purified, and the body becomes a mass of light. From that complete transformation, I myself become the venerable Vajrayogini, with the right leg extended on a lotus and sun seat, pressing down on the red Kalratri, and the left leg bent, pressing down on the black Bhairava. The body is red, with one face and two arms. Three eyes. The right hand holds a vajra-marked curved knife pointing downwards. The left hand holds a skull cup filled with blood, raised upwards, drinking from it. On the left shoulder, a vajra-marked khatvanga is held, with a bell, damaru, and three-pronged pennant hanging from it. The black hair is loose. The head is adorned with five dry human heads, and dry
