将这些意义归纳起来,萨迦班智达(sa skya paNDi ta)说:“事部之因无自生,(bya ba'i rgyu la bdag bskyed med)供奉画像得成就,(bris sku mchod nas dngos grub len)自生修法若有者,(bdag bskyed sgrub thabs yod pa ni)乃是瑜伽续之后,(rnal 'byor rgyud kyi rjes 'brangs nas)依其规矩而行持。 (mchod na bsod nams brnyes na sdig)”等等。

It is like this, the self-generation deity during fasting mentioned in this treatise is completely not like that. Because fasting is the custom of Kriya Tantra, and Kriya Tantra does not have self-generation deity, as stated in Yeshe Dorje Kunle Du. Moreover, the tantra itself does not mention self-generation deity, and it is not actually there. The treatise also says that even doing heinous crimes requires confession rituals, and only not eating at noon is called fasting, and there is no fasting mentioned at other times. It is also not appropriate to eat breakfast the next morning, because the confession treatise says that one can eat when the sun rises on the sixteenth day. Combining the deity of Kriya Tantra with self-generation deity is to practice according to the rituals of the upper tantras. It is not appropriate to fast for the sake of physical suffering at that time, because the Guhyasamaja Tantra says: "Difficult asceticism and unbearable hardships will not lead to accomplishment, (dkah' thub dkah' spyad mi bzad pas, bsgrub na 'grub par mi 'gyur zhing)" and so on. Summarizing these meanings, Sakya Pandita said: "The cause of action has no self-generation, (bya ba'i rgyu la bdag bskyed med) offering to the image leads to accomplishment, (bris sku mchod nas dngos grub len) if there is a method for self-generation, (bdag bskyed sgrub thabs yod pa ni) it follows the Yoga Tantra, (rnal 'byor rgyud kyi rjes 'brangs nas) and acts according to its rules. (de yi lugs bzhin mdzad pa yin) Practicing like this has no fasting, (de ltar byed na smyung gnas med) transforming oneself into a deity and making offerings, (bdag nyid lha ru bskyed pa la) offering brings merit, harming brings sin. (mchod na bsod nams brnyes na sdig)" and so on. However, it is not for the sake of physical suffering, but because the rituals spoken by the Tathagata are pure, so one should practice them. With this thought, even the yogis of the upper tantras can practice them, as the venerable one said. The fasters in Tibet visualize themselves as the eleven-faced thousand-armed Avalokiteśvara, complete with four limbs. On the mandala in front, they draw an eight-petaled lotus with colored powder, and arrange a vase and three tormas. In the center of the mandala, they visualize the eleven-faced Avalokiteśvara, and in the four directions, they visualize Akshobhya (अक्षोभ्य, akṣobhya, the Immovable One), Ratnasambhava (रत्नसभव, ratnasaṃbhava, Jewel Born), Amitābha (अमिताभ, amitābha, Infinite Light), and Amoghasiddhi (अमोघसिद्धि, amoghasiddhi, Infallible Success), complete with four limbs. They visualize nectar flowing from the hands of the self-generation deity and the front-generation deity, filling the vase, and then recite mantras. Finally, they dissolve the wisdom being of the self-generation deity into the front-generation deity, and recite many praises. With the water of the vase,

First, bathe the deity in front. Afterwards, bathing oneself is not mentioned in the previous four texts. However, many have attained accomplishments by relying on this method, so it seems to rely on the oral instructions of the lineage or other texts of the Bhikshuni Palmo. Like the tantras and the treatises of the Indian saints, confessing sins, practicing meditation and recitation, offering tormas, and the assemblies of praises are the ways to practice. I have explained the four treatises of the Lord of the World. Like a garland of pure white lotuses of virtue, may all beings who have fallen into the ocean of existence, through whatever excellent attainment is achieved, attain the state of the all-knowing Dharma King. This method of practicing the four treatises on Great Compassion by the Bhikshuni Dawa Mo is in accordance with the stages of the path of the four classes of tantra. According to the intention of the four treatises, relying on the teachings of the wise Dharma King Kunga Sangpo and his son, who have no fear in all spheres of knowledge, Gyalkhampa Sonam Senge composed this at Lingkha Dewachen. May it be virtuous! The way to practice the four treatises of Lokeshvara.
