Then, the corresponding determination part, and the Mahayana determination part that prevents attachment and practice to the three bases, paths, and results, and the determination part corresponding to the intention and practice of focusing on sentient beings, and distinguished by any of the signs of non-retrogression, and the determination part indicated by any of the four signs such as obtaining the peak practice. Therefore, the four stages of the Mahayana path of application, such as the heat stage and the peak stage, must be established with their respective characteristics as indicated in each case. In the case of omniscience and base knowledge, it is shown through the practice of the Mahayana's own realization of reason. In the case of the path knowledge, it is shown from the opposite side of not focusing on the realization of reason of the Hinayana. In the case of the first two applications, it is mainly shown from the perspective of subsequent attainment. As the commentary says, distinguishing the differences between the four stages of heat, etc., through the four ways of obtaining a little clarity of wisdom when grasping is without self-nature, etc., seems to be made as a source of knowledge in the Ornament of Sutras and the Compendium, but those are the views of the Mind-Only School. Third, analyzing the types of wisdom: there are two, refutation and establishment. In the first view, some say: This is yoga direct perception, because it is said that the appearance of wisdom is clear, so it is non-conceptual, and it manifests the ultimate truth of reality, so it is not mistaken. If so, then the Mahayana path of application becomes not the stage of faith and practice in reality, and it becomes the stage of being able to cut off the seeds of what is seen and abandoned, and the Mahayana path of seeing becomes the stage of having already directly seen reality and making it familiar. Because the Mahayana path of application directly sees reality. Some say: That is the non-conceptual of mixed grasping of sound and meaning, because it is said to have a bright appearance. However, it is not yoga direct perception, because it is a conceptual with the appearance of the grasper and the grasped. If so, then that dharma should be yoga direct perception, because it is the wisdom that realizes reality in a way that is free from the conceptual of mixed grasping of sound and meaning. Furthermore, the conceptual that becomes the object to be abandoned by direct perception should be established as the conceptual that merely manifests the appearance of the grasper and the grasped. Because if it is a conceptual with the appearance of the grasper and the grasped, it must not be yoga direct perception. If admitted, then the direct perception of ordinary beings

Subject: It is not manifest, because it is accompanied by the dualistic appearance of object and subject. Some consider it to be mental direct perception, others self-awareness direct perception, others inference, and some consider it to be deluded consciousness. Among these four, the first two are known from the previous refutation. The third is also unreasonable, because the wisdom that initially realizes the object to be proven based on a sign is inference, and from the second moment onwards, it is decisive knowledge. The fourth is also unreasonable, because the bodhisattva's application path samadhi is in accordance with the seeing path and its aspects. Secondly, the application path samadhi of the Great Vehicle, which cultivates the reasoning of its own realization, is decisive knowledge, because it is the wisdom that cultivates the continuum of reasoning that realizes the unreality of appearances from signs such as one and many. The bodhisattva's application path of the Lesser Vehicle, which cultivates the reasoning of realization, if it has not previously undergone the inferior path, is the same as before. If the conceptualizations of stream-enterers, etc., have previously occurred, then when their reasoning of realization arises, yogic direct perception arises. Among those included in subsequent attainment, there are also those that are direct perception, because it must be accepted that the direct consciousness of knowing the minds of others in that continuum is the application path. However, it cannot be yogic direct perception, as has been said above. If it is thought that if it is conceptualization, then it contradicts the clear appearance of its own object, as it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: 'Conceptualization and its attendant are not with a clear appearance of the object.' Do you think so? From the difference in the magnitude of familiarity with selflessness, it is not the difference between clarity and non-clarity of selflessness. Because, due to the power of familiarity, clear appearance does not arise in conceptualization. If you accept this, then due to the power of familiarity, there should be no difference between clarity and non-clarity of desire, etc. If you accept this, then it contradicts what is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: 'Due to familiarity, desire, etc., are clear.' In short, for those who have previously experienced the conceptualizations of stream-enterers, etc., there is the yogic direct perception that directly realizes the selflessness of persons, and the application path that has become the direct consciousness of knowing the minds of others. However, it has not realized the nature of reality, and there is a pervasion of non-direct perception for the application path samadhi that realizes the nature of reality and for subsequent attainment. Fourth, the number of the four certainties is:
