Grant the attainment of deathlessness! Grant the attainment of wisdom, courage, retention, samadhi, and other numerous virtues! Through a pleasing reputation, gather a retinue in accordance with the Dharma, and may all beings always rejoice! By perfectly combining these with faultless discipline, may hearing, contemplation, and meditation increase! May the Victorious One's teachings always flourish in the ten directions through the activities of teaching, debating, and composing! May all calamities be completely pacified in all kingdoms, and may wealth and prosperity increase! In short, for the accomplishment of perfect enlightenment, may all adverse conditions and obstacles be completely pacified, and may all favorable conditions and aims, just as they are conceived, be effortlessly and spontaneously accomplished! May I become the precious source that embodies all the qualities of all Buddhas, and by fulfilling the hopes and desires of beings as vast as space, may I perfect great merit! May these appearances be understood as one's own mind, and may the nature of mind be well realized as the union of clarity and emptiness, and by meditating single-pointedly, may the great accumulation of wisdom be perfected! This supplication to the glorious Lama Rinchen Jungden, called "Increasing Merit," was composed by Sonam Senge, a servant of the venerable Lamas, on the fifteenth day of the last lunar month of the Fire Dog year (1946), at the great monastic college of glorious Maitreya.
