The destruction of the container world (outer world) and the death of sentient beings (inner world) are purified through the stages of dissolving the mandala; Enjoying ordinary food is purified through the yoga of food; The mind's appearances when lying down to sleep and waking up from it are purified through the yoga of sleeping and waking; The mind's appearances and habitual tendencies of various ordinary activities, without separating from the pride of oneself as the deity, knowing whatever appears as the deity, enjoying it in the manner of the deity dissolving into the deity, are purified through this method, and so on. Seek the details elsewhere. Thus, having recognized the object to be purified and the means of purification, if one practices the four sessions, etc., without attachment during the path stage, one will quickly attain the state of Vajradhara. As it says in the letter of Ga Stone: 'In general, if one recognizes well and meditates on the object to be purified and the means of purification, whether diligent or not in meditation, one will have the power to liberate oneself and others from the ocean of samsara.' Furthermore, if one meditates on these four sessions regularly, at first it may seem to take a long time, but once one is familiar with it, it will not take any time at all. If one meditates on this without interruption, one will accomplish Mahamudra. One also does not need to receive empowerment from others. One does not need to rely on colored powder mandalas and painted images, nor does one need to separately perform the vase empowerment with sadhana and self-entry. It is said that everything is complete in this alone. My lama, Chöje Zhenphen, also said that the Sakyapas regularly receiving the empowerment of the path stage can restore root downfalls, and if one is not defiled by root downfalls, one will attain enlightenment in sixteen lifetimes. Therefore, this path, which has great benefit and little danger, is more excellent than other paths. Therefore, those who are fortunate should know that such a result will arise and strive in this practice, realizing that this is the essential point to be learned. Again, it is said: Transforming impure mundane appearances, like iron; transforming the pure appearances of great bliss, like pure gold; which wise person would not respect this supreme method of transforming in an instant? Having perfectly bestowed the four empowerments in the four mandalas, the four progressions dissolve, thereby manifesting the four kayas. This excellent path of the four empowerments, meditating in four sessions, is the teaching tradition of the Sakya Jamgon lineage. Therefore, one should not merely know how to recite the ritual and think that one's qualities are complete. One should properly enter into the unerring teachings of the supreme masters of the past through hearing, thinking, and meditating. Even so, regarding the teachings of the previous masters, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before the sun blazing with the light of blessings, Those with degenerate minds in these dark times, like owls, All seem to turn their backs. Therefore, one like me, with little learning and inferior intellect, Even if I explain, others will not accept it. However, my refuge until enlightenment, The words of the Vajradhara (金刚持,Vajradhara, Vajradhara, One Who Holds the Vajra) Guru himself, Undefiled by the stains of evil thoughts, As the wise have said, I will briefly explain. If there are any errors, I apologize to the glorious Guru and, To the assembly of dakinis (空行母,khandro) with eyes of wisdom. By this merit, may I in all lifetimes, Obtain the good fortune to enter this path, And become a servant who carries out the orders of, The Dharma King Jamgon Lama. This is the true teaching of Vajradhara (金刚持,Vajradhara, Vajradhara, One Who Holds the Vajra) Jamgon Dharma King, which I sincerely take to heart, I, Kunga Gyaltsen, taking the dust of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo's feet upon my head, wrote this at Kyegu Dondrup Ling. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
