None. By this virtue, may I and all sentient beings, On the unerring path of the Victorious One's tradition, From the boat of purified obscurations, May we reach the peaceful and precious island of enlightenment. In the medicinal meadows where forest-seeing deer roam, In the groves where trees display the signs of the four seasons, Unpleasant sounds are not proclaimed to the righteous. Even the flocks of birds that sing pleasing words, In this cycle of existence like venomous snakes and vines, May the mind be drawn by the chariot of renunciation, Hearing the extremely peaceful sounds of silence, May we attain the glory of pacified senses. May the view not be disturbed by the winds of conceptual thought, May conduct follow the footsteps of the holy bodhisattvas, May we never become a burden to others, May great activity bring benefit and happiness to beings. This is the colophon to the root text of the Treasury of Precious Qualities. Thus spoke: From the platform of the nine levels of gods and humans, Up to the vehicles of hearers, solitary realizers, and bodhisattvas, The peak of all is the crown of the six tantras, The three inner tantras are superior to the nine levels of vehicles. The meaning of these is like the neck of a great ocean, To examine it with mere intellectual analysis, Thinking one can measure it is self-deception, Therefore, one should not follow after disputes. The reason why this treatise does not have such faults, Is that the three wisdoms of hearing, contemplation, and meditation, Are complete and simultaneous by the power of past habits, And having attained the supreme intelligence of teaching, debating, and writing. The meaning of the many treatises composed by the assemblies of scholars and accomplished ones of the past, Based on the two truths, Is gathered here in brief words, This is the essence condensed into one, unsurpassed. The six ornaments and two supreme ones who adorn Jambudvipa, And the scholars and those who claim to be scholars who have appeared in this land of snow, However many have appeared, although they have composed many treatises, Nevertheless, the benefit and harm to the teachings are evident. Therefore, like the Buddha himself to the Buddha's teachings, The excellent path of the two great chariots, Namely, profound view and vast conduct, The essence of these two well-known treatises is also this itself. Now, at a time when the Buddha's teachings are nearing the western mountain, When those with stubborn minds rely on the Dharma, And are as difficult to tame as a hard shell smeared with butter, Wouldn't it be better to tame one's own mind? In general, the vajra

The two vehicles of Je Tsongkhapa, explanation and practice, although it is said that nowadays explanation is the main focus, those who cling to explanation often distance themselves from faith and compassion; those who strive for practice mostly desire to benefit the teachings and beings. However, whichever of these two, if it is not just mere pretense, but truly generates the mind to benefit the teachings and beings, then without a doubt, it is a supreme holder of the teachings in the degenerate age. Therefore, exposing one's own faults is the best practice; one must listen much, not let the ears become mere ornaments; one must discern with thought, not spread erroneous ideas; one must stabilize meditation, not cling to the apprehended and the apprehender; speaking, debating, and writing, these three, must not be destroyed by arrogance. Having said this to oneself and others, I emphasize again, because the Buddha said that there is no fault in a virtuous mind. May I, like obtaining a drop of water from the ocean of the treasury of precious qualities, like obtaining a jewel on the tip of a hair, spread these for the sake of benefiting some who are like myself. I, as the propagator, may I always bow with my head to the feet of the twenty guides, never tiring. I, the yogi, called Kunsang Yishe (All Good Wisdom), for the sake of benefiting others, sparing no effort, willingly taking on heavy responsibilities, displaying these in the form of letters. Accomplished through the efforts of my disciples, the faithful Puṇye Ratna and Kunsang Chime. May this virtue cause us, teacher and disciples, and all beings connected to us by good or bad karma, especially all limitless sentient beings, to be inseparable from the primordial protector! May the key to the treasury of precious qualities—this concise commentary that opens the door to the treasury of precious qualities, like a precious key that opens the door to the ocean. May those who cherish faith without discrimination, and the seven noble riches such as vows free from hypocrisy, as precious treasures, the supreme guide Puṇye Ratna Dhvaja, regard this as a treasure, and follow his teachings, for the sake of the meaning of the King of Dharma Tsongkhapa, especially mentioning, may we, until we attain enlightenment, be inseparable from the lord of the lineage, the Seventh Pal Khyentse Özer (Great Wisdom Light) or Rangjung Dorje Jigme Lingpa (Self-Arisen Vajra Fearless Continent). His immaculate teachings, the root "Treasury of Qualities, Rain of Joy" up to the ninth chapter, explain the connection of the sutra path, the chariot of the two truths; the subsequent four chapters establish the meaning of the ground, path, and fruit of tantra in general and especially the Great Perfection, the two omniscient chariots. Seeing the volumes of these two extensive and concise commentaries, one feels fear.
