Thus, the eight consciousnesses based on the Alaya, clinging to the aspect of awareness as ignorance, are therefore called the fully conceptualized, residing in the nature of samsara, which is also considered by the enlightened ones, that both samsara and nirvana, are awareness moving from its own position, falling into the realm of the grasped and the grasper; existing from the difference of self-luminous vast liberation that does not deviate from the nature. Root: These are the Great Perfection of self-nature, to be known as the uncommon five paths, with ignorance as a friend and the deception of delusion, in the boundless wilderness of samsara, with the iron chains of karma and afflictions, from now on, bound and generating a sense of weariness, after arising, in the peaceful holy city, approach the supreme path of nirvana. Thus, these are the five paths that have been spoken of, the uncommon five paths of the Great Perfection of self-nature, should be known, that is, after understanding, ignorance is the opposite of awareness, therefore it becomes a friend, due to the deception of distraction and delusion, from the terrifying place of the boundless samsara, like a vast wilderness monastery, with the iron chains of the accumulation of unwholesome deeds and eighty thousand afflictions, from this day on, regarding the meaning of the essence of awareness transcending both confusion and liberation, before realization, the mind weary of being bound and ignorant arises, in the peaceful holy city, that is, approaching the supreme path of nirvana, this is also for those with excellent faculties and merit, taking the foundational view of Trekchö, the path as spontaneous luminosity skillful means union to practice, without relying on the measurement of the ground and paths of the causal vehicle, in the uncommon five paths of the Great Perfection, the three bodies are perfected in the appearance of the path, with one lifetime one body, accomplishing the fruit of possessing six qualities on the ground of the base. Even so, with the perfection of abandonment and realization, as a sign of inner and outer consistency, there is nothing special, just in the phenomenon of the movement of wind and mind, slightly obtaining mind-abiding, or clinging to the accomplishment sign blessed by evil demons, as having attained accomplishment, and then saying: I have seen the true meaning of Dharma-nature, so I have no expectation of karma, from now on I will no longer wear a hat on my head, such false words.

Even great individuals may deceive themselves and others, but this has not liberated them from the view and meditation of intellectual speculation, thus they remain as one of the lifelines of samsara. Furthermore, there are five paths to wandering in samsara: the path of dreams, the path of habitual tendencies, the path of the end of karma, the path of uncertain confusion, and the path of uncertain causes and results. Thus, those who possess self-streams that have not abandoned the obscurations of these five paths are bound by the tight iron shackles of karma, afflictions, and formations (samskaras), and are confined to a place where there is no other place to wander than the six realms of existence, and have still not passed beyond bondage. Upon this, one should generate immeasurable weariness and bring the four—view, meditation, conduct, and result—to perfect completion. The twelfth chapter from "The Precious Key of the Ocean Drop," a concise commentary that unlocks the door to the treasury of qualities, is complete. Chapter Twelve: Explanation of the Uncommon Path of the Great Perfection of Naturalness.
