Yes. However, it rises like seeking a vine on a hair. That refers to the initial faith; likewise, desire and trust do not turn back. From these four ways, in this state of refuge, even if life is at stake, one must not turn back. It is said that the root of all Dharmas is faith, and when faith arises, all virtuous Dharmas manifest. When faith disappears, the accumulation of goodness and merit also diminishes. Therefore, the method to stabilize the root of all Dharmas is faith. However, for those foolish individuals who lack the wisdom of strength and practice, faith is hidden in their hearts, remaining in an unrevealed state. When they see the master who shows good and evil, or read the scriptures including the Tripitaka, they rise and waver like seeking a vine on a hair. This is called the initial faith. An example of this is: previously, when the elephant of the enemy of birth was whipped by the master Norjong (protector of wealth), initially it ran with a mind of anger, but as soon as it saw the Bhagavan, the mind of anger subsided. The initial faith is: when one sees the characteristics of the Dharma and the way individuals practice virtue and abandon evil, it is accompanied by joyful desire, such as joy and rejoicing. Similarly, the faith of desire refers to fearing the truth of suffering, being afraid of birth, old age, sickness, and death, and seeking and approaching from the depths of one's heart the master who can save one from suffering and show the truth of the path of liberation. The faith of trust refers to having a definite understanding of the qualities of the Three Jewels and believing that they will not deceive. The faith of non-retrogression refers to, after entering the door of Dharma through these three types of faith, no matter what good or bad happens, one will not turn back. For example, previously, a Buddhist layman was captured by a heretic, and the heretic said, 'Either join my sect and abandon your gods and views, and I will not kill you.' If he did not do so, he would be killed. The man only did so verbally, but not from the heart, so he lost his life, but it was as if good fruit matured in the next life. The root is: there are four causes for the arising of faith: relying on holy beings, associating with virtuous friends, remembering the Three Jewels, and...

And, faith arises from contemplating the faults of meaninglessness. This means that relying on the noble lama, associating with noble friends, and following faith, all white dharmas and virtues will increase, and constantly remembering the Three Jewels, generating faith and reverence, contemplating the faults of the निश्चित (niścita, certain) meaninglessness of samsaric activities, thereby generating renunciation, from which faith arises. If there is no faith, then even if one diligently recites refuge and prayers, only small fruits will arise. Root: The qualities of all the able ones are infinite, with the two abandonments, they have destroyed the afflictive and cognitive obscurations, possessing eyes and clairvoyance, the ten powers, the gate of dharani, the ten strengths, the four fearlessnesses, and the individual wisdom, the eighteen unshared qualities are complete, that is the Buddha, possessing the supreme dharmakaya of all aspects, showing perfect enjoyment to the retinue of the ten bhumis. This means that from generating the supreme bodhicitta until not becoming a Buddha, enduring the unbearable, completely possessing infinite qualities, and destroying the maras who obstruct bodhi such as desire, possessing special fortune and freedom, etc., and transcending all conditioned dharmas such as craving and grasping, and truly understanding the nature of things as they are, abiding in such a state, therefore called Tathagata. By the abandonment of seeing and the abandonment of cultivation, all afflictions and cognitive obscurations are abandoned, called destroyed. What is encompassed by the Buddha's qualities is the eye of all-knowing. In terms of dharma, it is truly understanding the sharpness and dullness of the faculties of noble beings. In terms of wisdom, it is truly seeing the meaning of the emptiness of the self-nature of all dharmas. In terms of the divine eye, it is truly knowing the death and birth of beings. In terms of the flesh eye, it is directly seeing all the subtle shapes from one hundred yojanas to three thousand great thousand worlds. The direct perception of神通 (abhijñā, clairvoyance) is, shaking the earth, transforming into one, transforming into many. The direct perception of the divine ear is, truly understanding the various sounds of the world realm. The mind-reading is, truly knowing whether others have afflictions, etc., in their minds. The宿命通 (pūrva-nivāsānusmṛti, remembrance of former abodes) is, knowing one's own and others' past hundreds of thousands of lives, etc. The divine
