Third, the empowerment of the eight substances is: Hrīḥ (Tibetan) ཧྲཱིཿ (Sanskrit Devanagari) hrīḥ (Sanskrit Romanization) Hrīḥ (Literal Chinese meaning), the practice substance white mustard seed, the king destroys the hordes of obstacles. The supreme substance bilva increases all qualities. The supreme root durva protects from the harm of demons. Red ochre cinnabar gathers beings under control. Ghee and medicine eliminate all afflictive diseases. Nourishing yogurt increases the radiance of the senses. The clarifying mirror dispels the darkness of ignorance. The right-spiraling Dharma conch proclaims sixty melodious sounds. Bestow the complete empowerment of the eight auspicious substances. (ཁ ྅྅྅྅྅། is the samaya vow, therefore repeat after this. Whatever the main deity commands, I will do all of that. I also completely offer myself to you. Please accept me as a disciple. After the three times, dedicate the merit and conclude with auspiciousness. Here it is said: Father Lord Lama Drime Ozer, like the empowerment of entrusting the extensively revealed aspiration prayer, the sign of the blessing received by the supreme one, me, as if the intention of that sky yogi has been manifestly transferred, the form of the unmistaken realization of hearing, thinking, and meditating, who can prevent it from appearing as a mirror for those to be tamed? Demons do not eat those who are free from faults. Because I have not slackened in my faith and vows, I have received a little of the Guru's blessings, and because the interdependence of your true words is infallible, I will immediately and unhinderedly propagate it as you wish. Nowadays, people generally belittle the Dharma, and in particular, some people show off the old things of the past in relation to the Dharma of the Father (Guru). You are definitely one of the pillars of the teachings. Here, those who pretend to be wise turn day and night upside down, regard the pure and good path as an enemy, and dwell in the cave of wrong views. Even if they proclaim wrong views, it is only their own fault. Therefore, this is the pure Mahayana path. If there are fortunate ones who desire liberation and seek omniscience, they should rely on this excellent and infinite light of Dharma, and the lotus of benefit and happiness will flourish. The power of the wisdom, compassion, and ability of the Father Guru, and the command of the holy one who is inseparable from him, through the power of past lives, I have composed this virtue with increased intention, may all the adversities of the teachings and sentient beings be exhausted, and may we enjoy the glory of immediate and ultimate joy and happiness! Thus, the empowerment ritual of the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara, the self-liberation from suffering, the infinite light, was taught by the great Vidyadhara Namkha Jigme Dorje and gladly accepted and composed by the yogi Jigme Trinley Ozer, who received the nectar of ripening liberation from the twenty qualified Lamas of Kham, U-Tsang.
