The compassionate power of the ocean of the three kayas of the victorious ones, the friend who tames the arrogant hosts of the three realms, the lord of all the wrathful deities of the ten directions and three times, to Padmasambhava, the great powerful one, inseparable, I prostrate at your feet. The depth and breadth of your wis༷dom are immeasurable, the waves of your lov༷ing-kindness never cease, the rays of your ac༷tivity never set. I remember the lama who nurtures the lotus of those to be tamed. In the divine realm of the wisdom mind of the great scholar Vairocana, from the clouds of compassion, the rain of the wrathful secret of Padma Wangchen (Powerful Lotus) has excellently emerged, falling on the fields of fortunate beings to be tamed, a wondrous result. Especially through the power of experiencing the great essence of the nectar of maturation and liberation of the twenty supreme guides, Padma Wangchen, the one who subdues the three realms, has the power to develop the stages of preparation, main part, and conclusion. Therefore, this text on the homa of the four activities, this Garland of Jewels Fulfilling All Desires, may this offering be taken with faith in three ways as an ornament for the throats of the assembly of followers who uphold the vows. Here, now, in the Padma Wangchen practice, for the homa of the four activities of subduing the three realms, there is a division into three parts: preparation, main part, and conclusion. First, the yogi who has properly received the empowerment and transmission of this text, who protects the vows, and whose recitation and accomplishment are complete, should recite, praise, and offer prayers and tsok offerings to the Dharma protectors and treasure protectors according to the usual practice of this text. After accomplishment, one should engage in the homa activity. Of these, the first is preparing the fire pit and substances. Of the two, the fire pit platform should be high in the center and sloping at the edges. On top of that, there are three types of fire pits: built, painted, or carved. Whichever one is fine, but if it is not a painted fire pit, it should be one cubit in length and width and one finger in height. Make the shape of the fire pit appropriate for pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, or wrathful activities. Also, change the color to white, yellow, red, or green. Furthermore, on the opening facing upwards, for the four activities, draw a vajra, a jewel, a lotus, and a sword respectively, as well as a charnel ground mountain." } ] ============================================================
