Taught by the Thus-Gone One: What is the cessation of causes? The great ascetic spoke thus: Do no evil whatsoever, perfectly practice all virtues, subdue your own mind; this is the teaching of the Buddhas. Good is the discipline of the body, good is the discipline of speech, good is the discipline of the mind; discipline is good in all respects. The ascetic who guards all is freed from all suffering. All phenomena are like reflections, pure, clear, and without impurity; they cannot be grasped or spoken of, but arise from causes and actions. They are without self-nature and without location. Thus, knowing all phenomena, strive tirelessly for the benefit of sentient beings. PHAṬ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) Contemplate the meaning of that which is beyond expression. Having thus completed the main practice of all phenomena, in the third subsequent procedure, the first of the three, the object of purification is: PHAṬ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) From the bodies of the deities of the field of merit, a stream of nectar descends, purifying all the sins and obscurations of myself and those to be protected, vanishing like sunlight on mist, and all transforming into the body of great compassion. The sound of the six-syllable mantra shakes the six realms of the world, and ultimately, the impure grasping and the grasped dissolve into the expanse of reality, attaining the fortune to enjoy the pure realm. Think thus. PHAṬ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) Rest in a state of non-objectification. Again, all beings, including the environment, beings, myself, etc., transform into a mass of light and dissolve into the deities of the field of merit. Simultaneously, they also dissolve into Machik, who herself rests in a state of great bliss free from elaboration. PHAṬ PHAṬ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) PHAṬ PHAṬ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) The second, dedication and aspiration, are as usual. The third, auspicious words, are as follows: In the state of unborn, pure, great bliss, union, in the space of unceasing, spontaneous, samsara and nirvana without distinction, may the boundless play of manifestation arise as the glory of the teachings and beings. May the auspiciousness of the great mother Labkyi Dronma prevail! May the secret of the body not be overcome by the enemies of the four elements! May the secret of speech not be overcome by the power of evil adversaries! May the secret of the mind not be overcome by the enemies of the four maras! May the auspiciousness of the glory and qualities of Machik's three secrets prevail! May the auspiciousness of the ground, realize the meaning of the unborn! May the auspiciousness of the path, manifest the meaning of cutting! May the auspiciousness of the result, exhaust hope and fear! May the ultimate auspiciousness, spontaneously accomplish the two benefits! Spoken here.

Pa. Among the three turnings of the Dharma wheel by the Victorious One, The intermediate Dharma wheel of no characteristics, and The profound and certain Chöd practice, the realm for severing demons, are renowned like the sun and moon in both China and Tibet. However, it is difficult to have the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and conclusion complete, and to avoid confusing the object to be severed with the one who severs. Even so, in the three regions of Ü-Tsang-Kham, many learned and accomplished masters have clarified numerous Chöd texts. Yet, among all of these, the supreme one, starting from the self-arisen Victorious One, up to Karma Chakme, is known as the White Chöd, practiced by many scholars. I compose this with the same intention as that, although there is nothing that surpasses the previous subject and expression, but for the sake of my own close disciple, Arya Deva's earnest request, with the mind of benefiting others like Samantabhadra, may this spoken word benefit all beings! Thus, this "Nectar Ocean of One River Confluence," which arranges the Chöd instructions to be practiced on a single seat, is based on most of the Chöd texts prevalent in Ü-Tsang-Kham, with some listening and contemplation, and briefly wandering through terrifying places and cemeteries. May those who have not fallen under the power of the four maras, the profound Chöd yogi, claiming to be Karma Wangdrag or an emanation of the ornament of Jambudvipa, the supreme Nagarjuna, the great virtuous friend Lobsang Tenpai Nyima, and many other great beings, prophesied as an emanation of glorious Vajrapani, and crowned with the name of Bodhi Vajra, transmit the Chöd texts prevalent in Tibet in the manner of one river confluence to their beloved disciple, Abhaya Kalpabhadra, who cherishes the jewel of samaya, and may the scribe complete it immediately. By this virtue, may those who have the fortune to practice the Chöd field conquer the battlefield of the four maras and realize the state of the four kayas. Good! Good! Good! The Nectar Ocean of One River Confluence, which arranges the Chöd instructions to be practiced on a single seat.
