Chapter Twelve Chapter Twelve That which is the non-learning union refers to the completion of the four paths of learning, and the path of non-learning, such as the union of appearance and emptiness, bliss and emptiness, etc., or the qualities of the six perfections that become the great path, all rely entirely on the perfection of wisdom. This path will never become the cause of outsiders and hearers, self-realizers, etc. In this way, the secret of the body, speech, and mind of all Buddhas is emptiness. There is nothing and no characteristics in it, and the meaning of original purity, the Great Perfection, which is free from all extremes, does not need to be held as Madhyamaka. Conventional truth and ultimate truth, because there is no nature to abandon, are without object, which is established as the Great Perfection. And those who increase disputes, that is, those stubborn reasoners who hold the two truths as inverted, hold the two truths as different as deer horns, examine and speculate accordingly, follow outsiders, and analyze only with their own evil discriminations. The realm of ultimate truth is contrary to this. No matter how much one studies the true Dharma, if one does not see the true meaning of one's own mind, one cannot escape from samsara. When one realizes that one's own awareness is beyond the realm of expression, one can see the truth of the path of non-learning. Therefore, most of the sectarian reasoners who advocate reality are Hearers, and the lower-level ordinary people reasoners are the same as most of the characteristic schools that now invert truth and falsehood, and invert right and wrong. The king-like wisdom that transcends speculation, free from all expression, is primordially liberated, and the supreme and wonderful path of self-liberation Great Perfection, which has never been bound by anyone, is rare. Not bound by knowable phenomena, it does not change from the reality of emptiness. The essence of emptiness, self-illuminating, never ceases. The body abiding in awareness and the realm of wisdom are inseparable, neither different nor the same, like the essence of the sun, completely possessing the glory of the body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities of the Buddha, just like the glory of the sun is completely fulfilled. Such perfection

Regarding the view of Dzogchen, according to the superior, middling, and inferior faculties, and the levels of intelligence, there are also differences in the strength of these, and there are three ways of seeing or realizing. The Dzogchen Semde (Mind Series) believes that all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are the display of the play of mind itself. The Longde (Space Series) believes that all phenomena are the adornment of self-appearing displays, and do not go beyond the space of Samantabhadri, who possesses all perfections. The Mengagde (Instruction Series) believes that all phenomena included in samsara and nirvana have never existed from the beginning, but clinging to the appearance of emptiness as real, only increases delusion, and in reality, it is only clinging to what does not exist as existing. All of these do not go beyond the Bodhicitta, which is the basis of liberation, and has no objects or characteristics. And by what is liberation achieved? It is the self-liberated mind itself, the self-luminous awareness or space, which is unobstructed and clear in the space without origin or root. That is also not made or modified by anyone, so it is primordially liberated. That itself liberates itself, without touching any conditions. Because it is immediate liberation, it is free from all dependencies. Saying it is one becomes nihilism; saying it is many becomes counting; establishing it with a name frees it from extremes. Even if it is unique, it is liberated by awareness, and if its nature changes, there is nothing. Those minds are the nature of conceptual thoughts, the self-nature of illusion. The awareness that transcends those is the selflessness that is free from the thoughts of seer and seen, meditator and meditated, and is free from the words of existence and non-existence. This is the characteristic of the Great Perfection of naturalness, and those who have realized it are liberated from that basis by awareness, so the target dissolves into the Dharmadhatu. Sentient beings who have not realized it wander in that empty basis. If distinguished by aspects, the basis is like water, and the conceptual thoughts arising from the mind are like bubbles arising and ceasing. Even if mind and awareness are similar only in the state of non-thought, awareness is not established in anything, so it is emptiness without self-nature. The mind is stagnant like water in a puddle, and lacks awareness because of ignorance. Awareness is like the moon in the empty sky, although there is up and down, the quality of the moon's white light does not diminish at all, and it is clear in the depths.
