Chapter One. Chapter One. The Collected Works of Dodrupchen Kunzang Shenpen, Volume One, are present here. गुणाकोशररत्नसुप्रतिस्तारियोबा अपरतमणियोमाल्येबिहरतिस्म (Tibetan) guṇakośararatnasupratisrāriyobā aparatamaṇiyomālyebiharatisma (Devanagari) guṇakośararatnasupratisrāriyobā aparatamaṇiyomālyebiharatisma (IAST) May the treasury of qualities, the jewel, be well spread, adorned with an unsurpassed garland of jewels. The commentary on the Treasury of Precious Qualities, like drops of ocean water, a garland of jewels, is present here. Following the sharp wisdom of Manjushri, With the white light of compassion shining, Avalokiteshvara, The powerful, self-born secret lord, Vajradhara, Homage to Jigme Lingpa, the embodiment of the three families. His doctrine, the Dharma uniting Sutra and Tantra, Fulfills the hopes of fortunate beings like a wish-fulfilling gem. This is the unsurpassed treasury of the nine vehicles' intentions. Therefore, may its word commentary be made clear. That is, the view of Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa, this treatise that establishes the complete meaning of Sutra and Tantra, I will write a concise commentary or word commentary, measuring it with my own intelligence. First, in the Indian language: There are two, India and China. First, because it is the place where a thousand Buddhas appear and reside, and the source of the sacred Dharma, and because they like white for auspiciousness and clothing, etc., it is called that. Also, translating white as "gar" is because the translators made it easy to conform to grammar. This is what is said in authoritative texts. China is generally called that because it values worldly laws and customs, and considers black clothing and auspiciousness to be good. India, that is, the sacred land, although there are many different languages, Sanskrit is like the language of the gods. गुण (Tibetan, Devanagari, guṇa, IAST, quality) कोष (Tibetan, Devanagari, kośa, IAST, treasury) रत्न (Tibetan, Devanagari, ratna, IAST, jewel). Even if only these are used to define the name, it can fully contain the meaning of the beginning, middle, and end. However, below that, प्रामोद्रपृष्टि (Tibetan, Devanagari, pramodrapṛṣṭi, IAST) means to understand with childish intelligence, and finally, नमः (Tibetan, Devanagari, namaḥ, IAST, homage) which is the complete summary, if translated into Tibetan, it is called "Treasury of Precious Qualities, Rain of Joy," which is the treatise like a treasury of jewels, combining the glories of the three secrets of the Buddhas into one, the path to supreme enlightenment, containing the intention of the nine vehicles.
