Regarding the three types of form (rūpa) in the realms of aggregates (skandha), elements (dhātu), and sources (āyatana), first, the faculties (indriya) are five, and so on. Second, there are two types: general explanation and specific explanation. First, the five objects are indicated by 'form, sound, smell, taste, and touch.' Second, among the five types of form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, first, form is the eye (cakṣu) itself, and so on. Second, sound is of the ear (śrotra), and so on. Third, smell is the object of the nose (ghrāṇa), and so on. Fourth, taste is the object of the tongue (jihvā), and so on. Fifth, touch is of the body (kāya), and so on. Third, regarding the explanation of form included in the dharma-āyatana, there are two types: general explanation and specific explanation of non-revealing form (aviññatti-rūpa). First, the forms included in the dharma-āyatana are five, and so on. Second, this non-revealing form is form, and so on. Third, regarding the summary of form, the ten faculties and objects, and so on. Second, explaining the aggregate of feeling (vedanā-skandha), feeling is experience, and so on. Third, explaining the aggregate of perception (saṃjñā-skandha), perception is, and so on. Fourth, regarding the aggregate of mental formations (saṃskāra-skandha), there are two types: essence and classification. First, the aggregate of mental formations is, and so on. Second, it is divided into five omnipresent (sarvatraga), five object-specific (viniyata), eleven virtuous (kuśala), six root afflictions (mūlakleśa), twenty secondary afflictions (upakleśa), and four indeterminate (aniyata); these are clarified in order by their respective names. Third, in summary, mind and mental factors, and so on. Second, regarding non-associated formations, there is the rationality of their establishment, the classification of these rational non-associated formations, and the three situations that can be understood from this. First, similar to mental factors, and so on. Second, the twenty-four non-associated formations are clarified in order, from 'what is a non-associated formation,' and so on. Third, these twenty-four, and so on. Fifth, the aggregate of consciousness (vijñāna-skandha) is, and so on. Although there are internal classifications here, these are easy to understand. From this, it should be understood in the later chapters as well. Third, summarizing the chapter including the classification of aggregates, thus, these five aggregates, and so on. Understanding the Elements (dhātu) Second, regarding understanding the elements, there are: recognizing the eighteen elements (aṣṭādaśa dhātu), explaining the classification of the elements, and summarizing. First, there are three parts: explaining the eighteen elements, the meaning of the term 'element,' and how other things with the same name are included here. First, the eighteen elements are, and so on. Second, thus, the eye element (cakṣu-dhātu), and so on. Third, furthermore, there is the six-element person (ṣaṭ-dhātu-puruṣa), and so on. Second, regarding the classification of the elements, there are: with form or without form, 1. visible or invisible, 2. obstructive or non-obstructive, 3. with outflows or without outflows, 4. existing in the three realms or not. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
