Through the empowerment of subduing concepts, all vows arising from elaboration are united in meaning. Even when considering root and branch vows, all branch vows are included within the category of the 'Great Vajra Samaya'. Therefore, all mantra vows are gathered and held within these five categories. The third has three aspects: generally, from great courage to donning the armor of benefiting others; specifically, with great resolve, fully embracing the Buddha's teachings; and especially, with great samaya, vowing to be a companion in accomplishing the path of the vidyadharas. First, it is shown through egolessness, etc.: Samsara does not exist as self, entity, or nature, but is like an illusion. I have no fear. Therefore, for the sake of those beings who do not understand the meaning of egolessness, I vow to remain in this samsara until the ultimate end, until samsara is empty. By realizing the nature of samsara as illusory, in a fearless manner, for the benefit of ignorant beings, I vow to remain until the ultimate end. Generally, when acting or dwelling in samsara for the benefit of others, I will practice all the great Bodhisattva activities that fully ripen sentient beings. Moreover, such practice is not like a single lifetime, but is shown again and again for the benefit of the six types of sentient beings. Even if the rebirths from karma and afflictions are exhausted, I will consciously and independently take rebirths solely through the power of great compassion, prayers, and samadhi. It is said. Not abandoning samsara is not due to attachment, for I have no interest or attachment to the untrue, illusory world held by samsaric beings with deluded minds, or to the one-sided peace of nirvana. Because I do not abide on either extreme of wisdom and great compassion. Although I am free from desire and attachment, wherever and whenever suffering exists, or in whatever place, without partiality, in whatever of the six realms of suffering, in any case, samsara is a place disheartened by suffering. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Therein, I will abide for immeasurable eons or as long as the ocean, benefiting those suffering beings.' Thus, the practice of benefiting others also demonstrates a state of purity unblemished by the defilements of attachment and so forth. When engaging in the work of benefiting sentient beings in this way, one should not become discouraged because one feels that there is no end to sentient beings, thinking that one cannot accomplish it. Striving to benefit sentient beings for a long time in samsara, until the end is not seen, is the vow cherished by Bodhisattvas. Therefore, do not be discouraged because of the short time, but vow that until the lower realms are emptied, I will not generate a mind of weariness.' This shows that one will not be weary due to the long time. These cycles of existence are like a pit of suffering fire, and one should not be weary because of their inherently bad nature, but with great wisdom free from attachment, one should skillfully benefit all sentient beings. The root of this is compassion, and the enjoyment, object, or cause of compassion is only suffering, and there is nothing else besides that. Or, the enjoyment or activity of great compassion focused on suffering beings is only to benefit suffering beings skillfully with great wisdom, and there is nothing else besides that. In any case, the work of compassion is only to benefit suffering beings, and not to focus on happiness. It is said that peace is the opposite of compassion, which is also in terms of not having attained the ultimate Buddhahood, not in terms of the happiness of abandoning the suffering of samsara, and it is important to distinguish the object and aspect. For this reason, among beings, the hell beings who suffer the most from unbearable heat and cold, the preta beings who are hungry, thirsty, emaciated, and ugly, and the terrifying and unpleasant realm of Yama, which is the realm of those who travel the five paths, should be viewed as delightful flower gardens of the gods, and one should not be unhappy or unwilling, but should enter those realms with a strong and courageous attitude. Secondly, it is shown through love for beings and so on. In general, all the aspirations of the sons of the Buddhas, equal to the sands of the Ganges, are completely and perfectly contained within the aspiration to uphold the sacred Dharma. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
