From many profound treasures, it is repeatedly emphasized that Mañjuśrī's Great Perfection is practiced, because the essence of Mañjuśrī manifests as the lamp of self-arisen wisdom during the path, burning all appearances and attachments of impure existence. In the inner essence of the great Dharmakāya, the fruit of self-arisen wisdom is manifestly realized as the Kālacakra Vajra Mañjuśrī. As stated in the tantra: 'Mañjuśrī, great light of wisdom and knowledge, light arises from emptiness, realize all in emptiness.' Therefore, for those of us who seek the meaning of the path and are devoted to the view of non-duality of appearance and emptiness, Mañjuśrī is the supreme, uncommon deity. All Buddhas of past, present, and future are gathered into the essence of this single deity, and especially in the degenerate age, it is easier to achieve, as stated in the root tantra of Mañjuśrī. Therefore, offerings related to this have many great auspicious connections. In Tibet, the Sakya forefathers and Je Tsongkhapa regarded Mañjuśrī as their yidam deity, seeing his face and receiving his blessings, which led to the flourishing of their lineage in teaching, debate, and composition. The glorious Orgyen Chökyi Gyalpo (Padmasambhava) is himself an emanation of Jetsun Mañjuśrī. As stated in the Mañjuśrī Magical Net: 'Glorious Buddha Padmasambhava, holder of the omniscient wisdom treasury, holder of the king of magic, great holder of the Buddha family mantra.' Furthermore, Thumi Sambhota and Dharma King Trisong Detsen were also emanations of Mañjuśrī. From Khenchen Bodhisattva to the translators and paṇḍitas of the early Nyingma school, almost all of the vidyādhara lineages were embraced by Mañjuśrī. Therefore, for us followers, there is a special auspicious connection to receive blessings. The Buddha's teachings depend on explanation and practice, and true realization depends on wisdom. Therefore, relying on Mañjuśrī, the deity of wisdom, is extremely profound. In particular, in this teaching, the eldest son of the teacher Śākyasiṃha, Mañjuśrī himself, propagates the teachings through various manifestations and blesses the upholders of the teachings, which shows many special necessities. Offerings related to this are also the supreme door of auspicious connection for the flourishing of the teachings. Especially among all offerings, the butter lamp is extraordinary. As stated in the sutra: 'The merit of offering even a small butter lamp cannot be measured by the Blessed One.'
