As stated in the twelve parts, the moon bodhicitta is white, and the sun bodhicitta is red. For this, having meditated on the tummo yoga previously explained, relying on the melting of the letter (Tibetan: ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at the crown chakra, joy arises from the center of the great bliss chakra to the center of the enjoyment chakra. Among these, in the four parts of the body, the four joys of small joy, medium joy, great joy, and exceedingly great joy arise in sequence. From the enjoyment chakra to the center of the dharma chakra, supreme joy arises; from there to the center of the emanation chakra, special joy arises; and from there to the point of being immersed in the center of the jewel, coemergent joy arises. These three joys are also divided into four each: small, medium, large, and exceedingly large, thus there are sixteen parts of the moon. The twelve parts of the sun are the four joys that arise dependent on the red element, divided into three each—small, medium, and large—between the four chakras, thus there are twelve. Also, if one joy of ascending and descending, complete with the characteristics as previously explained, arises, then the element will not flow outward but will reverse upwards, which is the nature of dependent origination. Although the previous lamas divided the descending stability into four joys, the reliable tantras and commentaries only speak of the coemergent bliss having small, medium, and large distinctions. Afterwards, if one wonders how to divide the ascending and descending joys, although it is not explicitly stated, it is actually obtained within the coemergent bliss. This was written down by Khenpo Dharma Rinchen when the venerable Lama Lobsang Drakpa gave the complete stage of the Mother Tantra, "Spring Drop," to about a hundred monks at the winter retreat in Gongkar (Gonggar, place name, located in Gonggar County, Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region today) in the year of the Rat. Sarva Mangalam! The Drop of Spring of the Completion Stage.
