He will go to the one with... As prophesied, the great being Nagarjuna was born in the southern region of Beita, took ordination in the Buddhist teachings, and invited sutras such as the Prajnaparamita from the land of the Nagas. In order to clarify the nature of the Great Vehicle without characteristics in Jambudvipa, and to dispel the evil views of his own and others' schools, he composed treatises such as the Collection of Middle Way Reasoning. After that, the Manjushri Root Tantra says: The monk called Asanga is skilled in the meaning of that treatise. He elaborates in many ways the definitive and provisional meanings of the sutras. He is the master who teaches worldly knowledge. He will have the nature of explaining the scriptures. The accomplishment of his knowledge is called the female messenger of Sala. Through the power of her mantra, good intelligence will arise. For the sake of the long duration of the teachings, the sutras will gather its meaning. He will live for one hundred and fifty years. When his body is destroyed, he will go to the realm of the gods. When he wanders in samsara, he will experience happiness for a long time. Gradually, he will become a great being and attain enlightenment. As prophesied, the teacher Asanga practiced the noble Maitreya and saw his face. He went to Tushita and listened to the Five Teachings of Maitreya, etc., and then brought the Maitreya teachings back to Jambudvipa. He himself also composed works such as the Compendium of the Great Vehicle, and thus widely established the tradition of the Mind-Only view. As it is said: For the benefit of all beings in the world, the one called Asanga, the stream of nectar drawn by the power of meditative absorption, poured from the vase of the mouth of the noble Invincible One, I prostrate to the one who receives it with the palms of listening. So, what was the view of the Great Vehicle like before Asanga established the tradition? Before that, it was only Madhyamaka. Before Asanga, there was no other way than the Madhyamaka, which explains the intention of the Buddha's teachings, dependent arising, free from the extremes of permanence and annihilation, because Nagarjuna alone is the one who clarified the Great Vehicle. Therefore, in the Ornament of Sutras, the Bodhisattvacharyavatara, the Essence of the Middle Way, etc., there appears a special proof of the Great Vehicle.
