It is considered that all the deities of the mandala are three-faced by fully showing the method. This is the same as fully showing the key to combining skillful means and wisdom without separation, which is the meaning of yoga. Therefore, merely combining emptiness as the object and wisdom as the subject into the same taste exists even in the Yoga Tantra and below. Merely making the bliss born together of emptiness as the object and the subject inseparable is the method of combining skillful means and wisdom without separation below the clear light of this school, but it is not the method of combining union. The tantra comes from the latter part of the Compendium of Assemblies: "The tantra is known as continuity. That tantra changes into three forms." As it is said, it is continuous. Among them, the three, cause tantra, means tantra, and result tantra, are explained as the tantra of the meaning to be expressed. Here, it refers to the continuous flow of words of the text that can be expressed. By whom is it spoken? By the noble ones. The necessity of vowing to speak or compose in this way is that the noble ones do not abandon the burden they have undertaken, and it is for the purpose of bringing the composition to completion. The second part is divided into two parts: the general establishment of the stages of the path; and the specific explanation of the stages of Vajra recitation. The first part is divided into four parts: the general order of the two stages; the order of the five completion stages; in which tantra these are established; and the method of understanding how to practice accordingly. The first part is: Although there are many word explanations of the five stages, the Compendium of Practice is the measure of the explanation of the meaning. This completes the incompleteness of the five stages that have been explained, clearly shows the difficult-to-understand points, and explains in detail the abbreviated points. Therefore, when explaining the texts of the five stages, one should adopt whatever is appropriate to the occasion. It is said. By whom is it said? By the Buddhas who have attained perfect and complete enlightenment. Where is it said? In this stage of generation and completion, which is the method of easily attaining the state of Vajradhara. To whom is it said? To those who wish to enter the stage of completion. How is it said? For example, it is like the order of placing the lower rung of a ladder before climbing to the upper rung. That is, one must first be well established in the stage like the lower rung of the ladder, and then truly practice the stage of completion.

Furthermore, it elucidates the completion stage as being like the higher rungs of a ladder. The entry into the path of stages arranged in this way is mainly for the sake of individuals who, like jewels, attain Buddhahood in one lifetime. Because this stage states that if one attains the illusory body, one will attain Buddhahood in this life. If there is another path of stages for that, that is the main meaning, so it should be explained separately, but it is not explained. In the Compendium of Practices, someone asked, "Is the completion stage learned all at once through the guru's oral instructions alone, or is it learned gradually?" In response, many proofs establish that it must be learned gradually. At the end of that, it says, "For those sentient beings who are beginners, when entering the meaning of the sacred Dharma, this method is said by the perfect Buddha to be like the rungs of a ladder." Therefore, it is impossible for even individuals who are like jewels not to have a beginner's stage. If there is a beginner's stage, then to think that they do not need the generation stage for their entry contradicts many tantras and treatises, so one must learn from the generation stage. Moreover, the Compendium of Practices states that one should first learn the intention of the Buddha's vehicle, which is to generate aspiration and engagement like the perfections. Then, as stated in the Lamp Illuminating, one should receive empowerment, listen to the tantras, and thus understand the two stages. After that, one should learn single-pointed concentration, either in the expanded or condensed form. Then, one should learn the yoga of thought, the two subtle points of the upper and lower gates. When one has mastered these, one will abide in the concentration of a beginner, which is the completion of the generation stage. After that, it is said that one should learn the three isolations, the two truths, and union in stages. The before and after of the generation stage and the before and after of the completion stage are also described as being like the rungs of a ladder. Apply this to words like, "Well-established in vajra recitation, for those who desire the stages of mental isolation." Even so, it does not contradict what follows, because here it is only generally stated that the before and after of the two stages are like the rungs of a ladder, while what follows will mention the names separately and explain the order of before and after. So, in which tantra is it explained that one must practice according to such a sequence? In the explanatory tantra, the Vajra Garland Tantra.
