If even what cannot be denied by outsiders is denied as the basis for establishing the pervasiveness of the sign that proves the possibility of manifest attainment, then it also cuts off the root of the proof for establishing that other schools have noble beings, etc. Therefore, regarding the arising of clarity in the object of habituation, it is the same whether one is habituated to the correct or incorrect meaning, and considering that one merely follows habituation, the Lord of Reasoning said: "Therefore, correct or incorrect, whatever is extremely habituated, when habituation is completely perfected, that is clear, non-conceptual, with the fruit of wisdom." And in the eleven practices it is also said: "Whatever things, with which people's minds are truly joined, by that, that thing is transformed, like a jewel with various forms." If it is asserted that clarity arises in the object of habituation through habituation of conceptual thought, then, since the meaning of non-conceptual is established, if the term "non-conceptual" is not used for it, then it is merely arguing over names. If it is thought that the object appears clearly, although it is non-conceptual, grasping sound and meaning, it is still conceptual because it is not separated from the conceptual thought of dualistic appearance, then, if non-conceptual wisdom cannot arise from the conceptual thought of dualistic appearance, then all minds up to the attainment of the noble state are conceptual thoughts of dualistic appearance. Therefore, it would be impossible for the non-conceptual wisdom of the noble ones to arise from the paths of accumulation and preparation, because the Middle Way says: "Unreal, completely conceptual, mind and mental events, of the three realms." The subsequent wisdom of the noble Bodhisattvas also has dualistic appearance, so those would also not be the path to enlightenment. If it is asserted that dissimilar results do not arise from dissimilar causes, and if one wants the cause and effect to be consistent, then if the result is non-conceptual, then the cause must also necessarily be non-conceptual, then one must admit that non-conceptuality has existed since beginningless samsara. If it is thought that in the cause of the Buddha's non-conceptual wisdom, in the path stage, non-conceptuality that realizes suchness must precede it, and therefore the mind that meditates on the generation stage does not realize suchness, so it will obstruct it, then, if it is asserted that there is no mind that realizes suchness during the generation stage, then it is very unreasonable to explain pages 601 to 700.
