Pages 201 to 227. Pages 201 to 227. What is said to be the subsequent action is not to show that a newly acquired item by a monk should not be accumulated, but if it is not a new mat, then it is newly acquired. Therefore, the word "new" does not mean untrustworthy. The basis for its meaning is that the extent to which it can be repaired, whether there is that much or not, is left to its own accord. Regarding the abandonment of carrying wool, the object entrusted is cloth material. Suitable, qualified, autonomous, and not moved, there are said to be five types. The material is clear. Qualified means able to bear the weight. The path of entrustment relies on the land and has a distant nature, there are two types. The time of carrying is one day's time. If there is no carrying, there is no downfall in carrying within three ক্রোশ (krośa), therefore it is said to exceed three ক্রোশ (krośa). If there is carrying, then only at the beginning is there another minor offense. In that case, if there is no carrying, abandoning occurs when exceeding the remote distance calculated from the beginning, and if not, abandoning occurs when exceeding the remote distance calculated from exceeding three ক্রোশ (krośa). This also needs to be added to the calculation of limbs. Entrusting refers to applying below the lips. Six barley grains placed side by side are one finger. What is said to be six and seven times refers to the finger of the first kalpa and the finger of decline. It is said to be from the commentary of the "Distinction Release". What is said to be the body refers to the burden on the shoulders. Regarding putting wool into milling, the place is like putting it into weaving. Initially, the wool is suitable, qualified, and autonomous. Suitable for milling etc., the beginning of not having done milling etc. before, it is said to have six conditions. Ultimately, work has been done on one side, and the size is used for being able to bear weaving. Ultimately, it seems necessary to be the same as weaving, so the initial six conditions and size should be examined. Regarding the abandonment of touching precious jewels, what is to be touched is a precious jewel, which can be named and is one's own. When trying to obtain it, it does not possess the feasible ritual of being in place. It is not the time to do feasible things, and it does not possess the causes of waste, there are said to be seven types. Saying that it can be named as an ornament is unreasonable, because what cannot be named is because it is said that it is broken etc. If what is done will become the abandonment of touching gold and silver? Padmaraga etc.

If one possesses a precious gem and accepts it, it is an offense of expiation. Possessing, under what circumstances is it completed? When one is capable, that is, when one is able to obtain it, the act of possessing is completed, therefore it is an offense of expiation. This seems to refer to contending for it with one's hand. If merely possessing it leads to expiation, is that so? It is also necessary that one has not done any of the three things: making it one's own, and allowing it. If one does something, what will cause one to fall? Touching it with one's own body, or allowing another to touch it. Thus, touching a precious gem that fully possesses the characteristics of being something to be possessed, and that one has not made one's own or allowed, or necessarily allowing another to touch it, because there is nothing to be possessed, does one touch it? Merely wanting to touch it is a mistake. Even if there is something to be possessed, it is said to be a misdeed if it is not available when one is capable, therefore the thing to be possessed must be completed. If it is done with words, or with letters, etc., then what is the contact that should be recognized here? Any kind is acceptable, that is, any kind of manner. For example, like saying, "Take it from here and put it there," even if one touches it in a similar way without specifying it, it will be an offense of expiation. Here it is said that the scriptures say that letters, etc., are inferior, so it needs to be examined. What can be used as an excuse is a copper vessel without the marks of a copper seal or pana, etc. Others are copper vessels different from the above. For a novice monk and a novice nun, there is no fault from the perspective of touching, whether it is voluntary or involuntary. For those two, what becomes an offense is solely from the perspective of possessing, such as the benefactor, etc. On what basis is it permissible to do? It is something similar to a precious gem. It is unrelated to allowing the five independent ones, that is, three. It is said that such things are armor, etc., and it needs to be examined. What is done by relying on what? Possessing the ability to restore the vows of the five classes, an ordinary body, awareness naturally abiding, possessing the conditions for permission, it is said to possess four, so it needs to be examined. For whose benefit is it done? It is for those who possess the Dharma. What is permissible to possess is: The first is, this impermissible object belongs to such and such a benefactor, and I will use the permission arising from this, thinking in this way. It is said that this is done from the perspective of oneself and the substance, through difference. The second is, playing, etc.
