The clear fruits of definite discernment of those teachings. The clear fruits of definite discernment of those teachings. The sixth general topic is about the classification of the excellent Dharma, in which, first, the scope of the word "Dharma" is generally explained, and then the excellent Dharma is explained separately. The first part is further divided into two points: The explanation of the meaning of the word is: In Sanskrit, it is called "Dharma" (梵文天城体:dharma,梵文罗马拟音:dharma,汉语字面意思:法), which originates from the root "dhṛ" (藏文:ཊུདྷྲྀ,梵文天城体:dhṛ,梵文罗马拟音:dhṛ,汉语字面意思:持), therefore it has the meaning of "holding." So, what does it hold? It holds all the characteristics, both specific and general, of all knowable things, from form to omniscience, holding their respective characteristics. For example, it holds the characteristic of form as destructible, until it holds the characteristic of omniscience as directly realizing all dharmas. In this way, it holds all characteristics. Similarly, from holding the characteristic of conditioned phenomena as impermanent, to all the characteristics such as "all contaminated things are suffering, all dharmas are selfless, and nirvana is peace," therefore, the definition of the word "Dharma" is understood to have the meaning of holding. The second is the classification: As stated in the *Cheng Weishi Lun* (Treatise on the Establishment of Consciousness-only): "Dharma is knowable, the path, as well as nirvana and the realm of mind, merit, lifespan, and the sacred teachings, the future, certainty, and legal principles." In this way, the ten scopes of the word's application are revealed. How is it applied? It is applied to knowable things, such as "what dharma is conditioned or unconditioned," etc., and one should be proficient in all things that belong to the dharma of knowable things, from applying to legal principles, such as "dharma that conforms to legal principles, worldly dharma and righteous dharma," etc., until conforming to their respective principles, as explained by the wise ones of the past. Second, the specific explanation of the nature of the excellent Dharma is divided into three: nature, meaning of the word, and classification. First, the nature is: From the above ten dharmas in the *Cheng Weishi Lun*, selecting merit, the path, and nirvana as the meanings to be expressed, and the sacred teachings as the language to express them, this is the excellent Dharma. What is the object that is eliminated by aiming at existence?
